It was a blizzard coupled with hurricane-force winds that brought upwards of 93 cm of snow. We mark today's 5th anniversary of Snowmageddon in a number of ways...including digging into some archival tape about how that day began and recalling how it played out here at CBC Radio as we stayed on the air for listeners... but not without some hiccups. We connect with Jeff Douglas, the host of Mainstreet in Halifax, who had to pick up the snowball as it became impossible to run the show from St. John's. Rounding out the reunion, former On The Go host Ted Blades, meteorologist Ashley Brauweiler and Weekend AM host Heather Barrett drop by the studio to talk about the people they met on the air during the state of emergency... and re-live some of the dramatic stories they heard.
