Emotional regulation is a foundational requirement for healthy internal lives and relationships. When we know how to identify our disrupted emotions and rebalance them by ourselves or with help, we are able to navigate the difficult parts of life effectively. This provides peace and stability even when external situations are challenging us. To help children learn to regulate, parents have to be skilled in their own regulation and in containing the emotions of another person. This series addresses emotional regulation and practical application for our families. In this episode, we will explore some things that contribute to dysregulation like emotional vocabularies, screen time, and goals.
