"Remote viewing" is a mental technique used by practitioners to gain information about distant or unknown targets. These targets can be objects, people, locations, or other desired items.

The practice of remote viewing has been characterized as extrasensory perception (ESP), clairvoyance, or simply “sensing” using the mind.

Remote viewing is often categorized as pseudoscience, although many interesting case studies have been documented by Stanford researchers Russel Targ and Harold Puthoff, professor of Statistics at UC Irvine Jessica Utts, as well, the technique was implemented by the CIA to gain tactical advantages.
