Removing Barriers

Episode 145

In this episode of the Removing Barriers podcast, we discuss a TikTok video which claims that if Christians were consistent, they would realize that Eve was transgender because she was made from Adam's rib and had male DNA. We will open the scriptures and see what the Bible has to say about this and how even in this dark and terrible confusion, the cross and gospel of Christ shines all the more brightly with the answers we need to know who God is, what He has done, and who we are before Him.

Bonkers - 4

Did you know that according to our bonkers world, the Bible is no different from Mein Kampf and is filled with bad and hateful speech like the word "sin?" Or that over three years after the domestic terrorism Black Lives Matter unleashed on the country, some people are only NOW realizing how much of a scam the movement is? What about a 22 year old woman who hated the idea of showering so much that she stabbed her grandfather in the face when he encouraged her to go take a shower? You don't need us to tell you, but this world has gone bonkers and we're here to talk about it on this episode of the Removing Barriers podcast.

Episode 143

It seems that whenever there is an interaction between a white police officer and a black person, the question of race and/or police brutality inevitably comes up. In some instances, it is the first thing that comes up. Should this be the case in our society? On August 24, 2023, a 21-year old woman named Ta'Kiya Young was shot and killed by police after having been accused of shoplifting liquor from a local grocery store. What makes this story noteworthy by today's standards is that she was black, unarmed, and pregnant at the time of her interaction with the police and subsequent death. Was the shooting racially motivated? Did the officer have the legal or moral grounds to open fire? What about her family and protestors who insist the officer be indicted and brought to justice swiftly? Join us on this episode of the Removing Barriers podcast as we discuss Ta'Kiya Young: a soul for whom Christ died.

Episode 142

Vivek Ramaswamy is a riveting presidential candidate for the 2024 elections with great ideas to stymie America's precipitous decline (provided he gets past Donald Trump). A sticking point for some conservative Christians is this: he is a practicing Hindu. What is Hinduism, and what will it mean for the country if a practicing Hindu wins the White House? Will America be irredeemable? Will it all come crashing down? Or will we adjust and find new ways to embrace pluralism? Does it even matter at all? Join us as we discuss this on this episode of the Removing Barriers podcast.

Episode 141

Abundant on the internet are video clips of LGBTQIA persons in clerical positions saying and doing wildly outlandish and blasphemous things. In this episode of the Removing Barriers podcast, we examine one such man who claims that God is all things LGBTQIA. The implication, of course, is that the ideology is above reproach, and all of what we have understood God to be for centuries is now wrong, hateful, and unacceptable. Is that true? What does the Bible say about the nature of God and how we relate to Him? Join us as we dig into these questions and more.

Bonkers - 3

This week we continue our series chronicling how much our world has gone bonkers. In this third installation, we examine the possible return of COVID masking and vaccination protocols, the fallout from a case in which a teenager allegedly murdered her newborn, Utah schools banning the King James Bible from their libraries, and teachers fighting back as public schools toy with the idea of further weakening grading standards to increase diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI) requirements. Join us as we discuss it and remember how our Savior came to redeem us from it to life eternal in His presence.

The United States Supreme Court has ended Affirmative Acton as we know it. Predictably, the country is split in their reactions to this devising. Some applaud it and see an incremental return to meritocracy while others decry the perceived devolution toward empowering racists and oppressing colored people. In this episode of the Removing Barriers podcast, we sit down with brothers Sam and Michael to discuss what actually happened and what the Supreme Court's decision means for the country moving forward.

Bonkers - 2

What do slippery slopes, the military, Andrew Tate, and guns have in common? They are all indicative of a world gone bonkers! In this second episode of the series This World has Gone Bonkers, we point to news articles and videos from the past and present that highlight incredible foolishness, incompetence, or malice, from American soldiers defecting to North Korea to children buying guns online. Let the series remind us of the spiritual needs of this lost and dying world, and of the good news that our Lord has already overcome the world.

Episode 137

It is our absolute delight to have Delano Squires on the Removing Barriers podcast to discuss Christians, Preferred Pronouns, and Free Speech. Delano is a Research Fellow in the Richard and Helen DeVos Center for Life, Religion, and Family at The Heritage Foundation. He is also a contributor to BlazeTv's Fearless with Jason Whitlock. A devoted husband, father, and Bible-believing Christian who is engaging our dying culture with scriptural truth, Delano is no stranger to the vitriol that comes with taking a stand against the LGBTQIA+ agenda. In this episode, we discuss how Christians should navigate the mine-riddled battlefield of ministering to a lost world captured by this destructive ideology, and how Christians can be salt and light with grace and truth just as Jesus is.

Episode 136

Bonkers - 1

Perhaps more so now than any point in our lives, we come across something that evokes deep consternation or shock, and it brings us to a sobering resignation that this world has gone bonkers. We are starting a new series to document those very things that we've encountered at RBP. It may be something old, or perhaps it's fresh off the presses... but one thing is for sure: it's absolutely bonkers! Far be it from us to bring these up to encourage pessimism, however. Rather, our desire is to remind the believer that this world is not our home, and the time we have to win the lost is short. Join us as we begin this series, and feel free to share something you encountered that reminds you this world has gone bonkers!
