Episode 18

In this episode of the Removing Barriers Podcast, we sat down with Dr. Michael Baldwin to discuss the racial past of the U.S. and how the church handled the issue.

As a Bible believing Christian, Dr. Baldwin found no pleasure in some of the hard things he had to say, but they needed to be said in order to expose the hurt and the racial tensions of the past, and to promote healing for the present.

Conversations matter! Some of the things that were said in this podcast were difficult things to say, but we can no longer sweep these things under the rug. The chickens have come home to roost. While the church may have failed to biblically handle the racial divide of the past, we can do a better job of handling our current day issues. Let’s talk about these things in our churches and among God’s people with the love of Christ ruling the conversation.

Without conversation, change will not happen, and without action, love and understanding will not be shown. Give this episode a listen. Racial reconciliation occurred in Christ, so let’s walk in it.

Episode 17

In this episode of the Removing Barriers Podcast, we sat down with Evangelist David Sommerdorf to discuss the great god Entertainment. Entertainment has silently replace Christ in the life of Christians and has become an idol in today’s culture. 

Is it ok to watch whatever content that is produced? What principles should we follow when deciding whether the content we are about to consume is wholesome? Is the Bible silent on these issues? Listen as brother Dave eloquently expounds on the Word of God and offers biblical principles on how we should address entertainment in our lives.

We ended the episode with counsel from the Bible on how we can slay the god of entertainment in our lives, and a clear presentation of the gospel for those who are lost.

Episode 16

Series: How Were Your Barriers Removed - 2

In this episode, we learned about the barriers that were preventing Jacob from coming to a saving knowledge of the Lord Jesus Christ, how those barriers were removed, and what he is doing now to help others remove barriers that may be preventing them from coming to faith in the Lord Jesus Christ.

Learn about his home state of Kerala and its rich Christian heritage dating all the way back to Thomas, the disciple of Jesus. 

We ended the episode with Jacob sharing the gospel. The same gospel that saved him is the same gospel that will save you.

Episode 15

In this episode, Pastor Kyle joined us to discuss Reaching Youths in a Changing Culture. In 1 Chronicles 12:32 

“And of the children of Issachar, which were men that had understanding of the times”… Oh how desperately we need parents and Christians who have understanding of the times.

In our current culture, our kids and youths are most affected. So how do we raise them? How do we point our teenagers back to God? Pastor Kyle gave solid advice and ended the show with a presentation of gospel as the greatest need for youths today.

Episode 14

Part 3

This is the third of a 3-part series on the Sad State of Basic Theology. We continued the discussion with a basic study of the Holy Spirit and a discussion about whether Jesus was a created being or God incarnate. What professing christians believe about these issues would surprise even the non-believer.

We ended the episode by presenting the fact that Christ had to be God to be able to die for our sins. If He is not God, then he is in need of a saviour himself. But since He is God, He was able to die for our sins. It is through repentant faith in his finished work that everyone must be saved.

In this episode of the Removing Barriers podcast we continued our discussion with Josh and Marie. We discussed their comfort level with the many racial challenges facing light and dark brown folks in society today and we got their perspectives on these issues.

We ended the show with the solution to social justice: the love which Christ demonstrated on the cross and repentant faith in His finished work.

Series: How Were Your Barriers Removed - 1

In this episode of the Removing Barriers podcast we started a monthly series called How Were Your Barriers Removed? In these episodes we will be discovering what barriers prevented our guests from coming to a saving knowledge of the Lord Jesus Christ and how those barriers were eventually removed.

You will meet Brendon in this episode. Even though he was raised in a “Christian” home, it was not until his early 20’s that he saw his own sinfulness, repented, and trusted Jesus as his savior. 

We ended the episode with Brendon sharing the gospel. The same gospel that saved him is the same gospel that will save you.

This is the first of a 3-part series on the Sad State of Basic Theology. Recently, Answers in Genesis published an article about a study conducted by Ligonier Ministries. You will be as surprised as we were at what evangelicals  believe about basic doctrines of Bible.

Is our culture in the state it is in because there is no difference between the saved and the unsaved? Is the doctrine of the Bible under attack because those who would defend and live by it no longer believe it? Listen to the episode for our answers.
