Removing Barriers

Episode 8

BLM - 3

In this episode we continue our series on Black Lives Matter and its Mission. Pastor Todd joined us to give a biblical perspective on LGBT and how they can receive the hope that is offered in Christ. We also looked at how BLM pushes the LGBTQIA+ community and discuss whether it has anything to do with black lives.

Which one wins: love or truth? Is homosexuality biblical? How many genders exist? All this and more in this episode of the Removing Barriers Podcast.

We ended the episode with the wonderful hope that can be found in Jesus Christ through salvation.

Episode 7

In this episode of the Removing Barriers Podcast we had “DW” join us to talk about CHAZ-CHOP,  and the unbelievable happenings surrounding this “protest zone.” CHOP-CHAZ went on for 3 weeks before the authorities exercised law and brought order to the zone.

We looked at who is to be blamed for the rise of CHAZ-CHOP,  whether this type of insurrection is protected by the constitution, and why it ultimately failed.

We ended the episode with a warning of coming judgment and the escape for the penalty of the that judgment in Jesus Christ.

Episode 6

In this episode of the Removing Barriers Podcast we had “MD” join us to talk about firearms, the 2nd amendment, and gun ownership. Discussion about firearms has been highly politicized, ownership of weapons are at times are looked down upon, and it can also be barrier to sharing the gospel.

We looked at some of the basics of firearms and talked a bit about the AR15, M16, and other firearms. We discussed whether it is a God-given right to own a firearm, and whether gun ownership demonstrates lack of trust in God. Furthermore, we discussed mass shootings and what can be done about them.

We ended the episode with the only solution to mass shooting: the changing of human heart through salvation in Jesus Christ.

Episode 5

Recently Joe Biden caused a stir in the African American community by implying that the community was a monolith. We took that statement and dived into whether he was correct in his analysis. Furthermore, we used Coleman Hughes’ messy experiment by comparing 2nd generation Caribbean American culture to that of the African American culture.

We ended the episode with sharing how all cultures are monoliths in that we are all born in sin and that we can break free from our bondage though repentant faith in Jesus Christ.

Episode 4

BLM - 2

Black Lives Matter makes it clear that they want to  "disrupt the Western-prescribed nuclear family structure." We dive into the ramification of that that statement and look at the structure that the Bible recommends for families. We show the dangers in getting rid of the nuclear family structure even as it declines in the United States today.

We showed that the nuclear family structure is the best model to raise children in and address some of the ills that affect the black family today. We ended the show with a clear presentation of the gospel.

Episode 3

BLM - 1

In this episode we touch a little bit on the history of Black Lives Matter (BLM), we then distinguish between Black Lives Matter the phrase and Black Lives Matter the Movement.  We then dive into the BLM mission statement and compare and contrast their mission with the Bible.  Further, we looked at BLM ultimate mission of black supremacy and called out BLM for their racist agenda. We concluded by showing how different people groups (commonly called races) came about as the Bible teaches in Genesis -- then ended with Christ's death, burial, and resurrection from the dead for the salvation of all people groups -- All lives matter to Jesus -- and all can be saved if they trust in him.

This is the first episode of the Removing Barriers Podcast. We decided to use the Simon Sinek model of "Starting With Why." In this episode we discuss why we are attempting to remove barriers and mentioned topics we would like to tackle. We ended the episode the way we would like to end all episodes: with a presentation of the gospel.
