Last time we explored the sixth hermetic principle of cause and effect and how it can be recognized.

In todays episode number 7, we will end this little series with the seventh and last hermetic principle, which states:

"Gender is in everything; Everything has its masculine and feminine principles; Gender manifests on all planes."

The hermetic principle of gender describes that gender, meaning masculine and feminine, exists in all things, not just in sex.

In todays episode number 6, we will continue with the sixth hermetic principle, which states:

"Every cause has its effect; Every effect has its cause; Everything happens according to law’ Chance is but a name for law not recognized’ There are many planes of causation, but nothing escapes the law"

The hermetic principle of cause and effect describes that everything happens for a reason, that there is no such thing as "chance", that each action brings about an effect and provoces a whole chain of reactions in the world.

Last time we explored the fourth hermetic principle of polarity and how it can be recognized. In todays episode number 5, we will continue with the fifth hermetic principle, which states:

"Everything flows, out and in; Everything has its tides; All things rise and fall; The pendulum swing manifests in everything; The measure of the swing to the right is the measure of the swing to the left; Rhythm compensates."

The hermetic principle of rhythm describes that there is a changing motion to everything in existence, a back and forth movement like the swing of a pendulum, where every movement in one direction brings about an equal movement in the other direction.

Last time we explored the second hermetic principle of vibration and how it can be recognized. In todays episode number 4, we will continue with the fourth hermetic principle, which states:

"Everything is dual; Everything has poles; Everything has its pair of opposites; Like and unlike are the same; Opposites are identical in nature, but different in degree; Extremes meet; All truths, are but half-truths; All paradoxes may be reconciled."

The hermetic principle of polarity describes that there is a pair of opposites to everything, a dualism of two opposing poles that are essentially the same. It teaches the student that the two contrasting poles with opposing qualities are actually just two different aspects or phases of the whole and not two separated and distinct things. Together they form the unity of the phenomenon itself.

In todays episode number 3, we will continue with the third hermetic principle, which states:

"Nothing rests; Everything moves; Everything vibrates."

The hermetic principle of vibration describes that everything in existence is in constant flow, always changing and moving. At the fundamental level our whole reality and all the different expressions of creation can be broken down to levels of frequency or vibration.

In todays episode number 2, we will continue with the second hermetic principle, which states: "As above, so below; as below, so above. As within, so without; as without, so within."

The hermetic principle of correspondence is all about the connection and interaction between the macrocosm and the microcosm, the collective and the individual or the inner world and the outer world.

In todays episode number 1, we will start with the first hermetic principle: "The All is Mind; the Universe is Mental."

Maybe this sounds a bit abstract or lofty to you? Well, if you are new to spirituality or religion, of course this may sound a bit high up there. But if you are familiar with any kind of spiritual or religious teaching, then you most likely will have come across the concept of everything being connected, of everything being essentilly just one all-encompassing, all-mighty, all-knowing and all-loving collective consciousness.

Welcome to this little, separate series on the "hermetic principles". In the next 7 episodes we will explore all of the 7 hermetic principles and how to recognize and use them constructively.

If I asked you to tell me what is most important to you, what your values, your virtues are - would you be able to answer me that question right off the bat? If you are like most people, probably not - most people out there, I believe, have never proactively and fully thought about, let alone clearly defined their personal set of principles and values, what they would do and what they would never do.

Lets talk about labels and names. The difficulty of talking about something that has no name, the clarity that names provide and the powerful negative and positive effects of labeling yourself a certain way. 

Have you ever felt like something was bothering you, something you could not really describe? Do you feel a kind of anxiety or grasp? And have you ever felt relieved once that certain something was defined and clear for you to see? Or do you struggle with keeping your commitments or resolutions?

In those cases it might be helpful to find a label for yourself or give a name to that certain something.
