This week we wrapped up our series The Faith Journey where we have been looking at the faith journey of Jacob in the book of Genesis. In this final message we discuss a new season of faith that Jacob must walk through; one of grief and loss. In his faith journey Jacob has experienced highs and lows, joys, and pains, victories and defeats and yet at the end of his life he is able to recognize that God has been with him through it all.

In this series we will look at what the Bible actually says and attempt to make sense of it all. This week we looked at what Jesus has to say in the Gospel of Matthew. Specifically, we looked at the context surrounding Jesus's statement in Matthew 10:28 that his disciples should not fear man, but should fear God who has ultimate authority. Additionally, we looked at the fascinating context surrounding Jesus's statement in Matthew 16:18 that he will build his church and the gates of Hades will not prevail.
