As she finds her way through life, education, and relationships, Maria maintains a high sense of self-worth; even at her worst. Having struggled with acceptance at a young age, Maria quickly learned to build herself up when nobody else would. In addition to growing pains, Maria attended a variety of schools in different countries, which further complicated her search for understanding. Today, this motivated Math major continues to face her fears and aims to help empower the next generation of African women to blow past their insecurities.

Lucid aka Robert was our very first guest on the podcast, and we were fortunate enough to have a second catch-up session with him after his very first live performance in Vancouver a few weeks ago. During the first episode, we focused on Lucid's personal development as well as his reasoning behind how he has developed up to this point. This time around we explored Lucid's creative process in more depth while getting a peek into the mind of the creator. Lucid's performance came with some challenges but most importantly, some valuable lessons about how he can continue to hone his craft.

In this short clip, Nyex chats with an old friend, Noni. They catch up on life while Noni shares about her journey into accepting herself and who she is.

Muthoni (aka Noni) is a Kenyan-born, Petroleum Engineering grad living and working in Canada. Despite Noni's early life posing a variety of challenges, it revealed a stronger and more determined individual who spreads joy everywhere she goes. The turmoil caused by past abusive relationships, as well as battles with low self-esteem often prevented Noni from giving herself a chance to move forward. Now, however, Noni stands strong having removed herself from unhealthy ties as she pursues her passions such as traveling. Noni is also focused on building a better financial future for herself, but only through the things she loves. The icing on the cake for Noni is that as she re-discovers her true self, she has the opportunity to strengthen her relationships with her chosen family all over Canada that loves and supports her.

Linda's upbringing in Kenya comprised of a fairly intense level of parental intervention; a direct contrast to her life now in Vancouver. Despite being raised in a household with strict values and an intense work ethic, Linda fully acknowledges her need for a level of flexibility in life. Having graduated from the University of British Columbia, it now further means that Linda's parents have one less aspect of her life under their close management. While finding her way around her twenties, Linda wants to take this opportunity to explore a lot more of what life has to offer. This means living with fewer restrictions than before, but still maintaining who she is at her core. Most importantly, Linda not only seeks to further her career professionally but impact the world around her while she does so.

From his first guitar from his father to playing alongside his younger brother in bands all his life, Robby is deeply inspired by the cohesive nature of his family unit. We also reflected on creativity and some of the ways Robby aims to impact Rock music with Chelsea's Tail. At the same time, we explored some of the ways Rock music impacted Robby to give him his hunger for expression.
