In this podcast episode, Brett Johnson discusses how you can ask for affirmation.
With thoughts potentially running through your mind such as, “What if they don’t believe me…?” We remember a staff and a hand signal. God does confirm his words with signs and wonders. “These signs shall accompany those who believe…”
But don’t push it: false humility is not pretty!

Moses is minding his business and he receives a divine interruption. The news is good - The Lord said, “I have indeed seen the misery of my people in Egypt. I have heard them crying out because of their slave drivers, and I am concerned about their suffering. So I have come down to rescue them from the hand of the Egyptians and to bring them up out of that land into a good and spacious land, a land flowing with milk and honey…
Then comes the surprise: “So now, go. I am sending you to Pharaoh to bring my people the Israelites out of Egypt.”
In this episode, Brett Johnson talks through a few clarifying questions:
Question #1 Who am I? And, #2, “Who is sending me?”
It is good to know your identity, it is smart to know your calling, and it is essential to know who is sending you.

In this episode, Brett Johnson talks about how sometimes you need to be in something in order to liberate others from it.
Moses was raised inside the Egyptian system. A pagan princess named a Jewish boy who got to know the system from which Israel would need liberation.
Moses knew the courts of Pharaoh because he grew up a prince in those courts. He had a good 40 years to think about the good, the bad, and the ugly of those systems. Moses knew what they were like which ultimately led to the liberation of a nation.
Brett touches on how you can seldom be a 2 Corinthians 5 minister of reconciliation if you don’t understand both systems.

In this episode, Brett Johnson talks about how sometimes your success will attract jealousy in your opponents. When you ask God to bless you, it is important to choose to have broad shoulders.
"Then a new king, to whom Joseph meant nothing, came to power in Egypt. “Look,” he said to his people, “the Israelites have become far too numerous for us. Come, we must deal shrewdly with them or they will become even more numerous and, if war breaks out, will join our enemies, fight against us and leave the country.” - Ex 1: 8-10
Brett also touches on how other times you are just a part of a larger span of history; your story has its context in His story. If you want to get into God’s business, it is no longer all about you and your business, career, wealth, or legacy. Ultimately, the leading of God to Egypt nearly 430 years before had resulted in infanticide and genocide.
“Then Pharaoh gave this order to all his people: “Every Hebrew boy that is born you must throw into the Nile, but let every girl live.” - Ex 1:22

"Let my business go..." is an overall theme for the Repurposing Business Podcast. "I feel it can be spoken from many perspectives. God saying, "Let my business go" ...to the church, the world, the devil. "Business is mine... I want it back."
It can be spoken to the business leader, "Let my business go." Your business is not yours, it is Mine. Release it to my hands. Release it to my purposes. Release it from the current constraints. Release it to be for the kingdom, not for your kingdom, etc.
The business leader saying, "Let my business go" as a prayer: let it go from the economic woes, the recession, the whatever, AND... "let my business go" to the nations, to the poor, to the needy... a "here I am, send us" prayer."
