The Jenny Jones Show was taping an episode titled "Revealing Same Sex Secret Crush" on March 6th, 1995. In typical "ambush tv" fashion, Jonathan Schmitz was surprised to learn that his good friend, Scott Amedure, had a crush on him. 3 days after the taping of the show, Scott Amedure would be murdered in his own home. The case would go on to spark a debate about whether or not The Jenny Jones Show played a role in the murder.

In May of 2014, two pre-teen girls plot to brutally murder their best friend in an attempt to appease the fictional character Slender Man. The girls become convinced that they had to murder Payton (Bella) Leutner in order to save their families.

40 years ago, Jody Plauche was kidnapped by his karate teacher, Jeff Doucet. When Doucet was finally apprehended by police, Jody's father would have his revenge. On March 16, 1984, Gary Plauche shot and killed his son's kidnapper in front of a local news crew. As officers took Gary into custody, they asked "Why, Gary, Why?!" He simply responded, "If somebody did that to your kid, you'd do it, too." This is the story behind the infamous video taken 40 years ago at the Baton Rouge airport.

On April 9th, 2004, McDonald's restaurant manager, Donna Summers, answered a phone call that would change the course of numerous lives. A man identifying himself as a police officer informed Donna that her young employee, Louise Ogborn, was suspected of theft. On November 4th, 2018, Tamla Horsford, age 40, was discovered dead in the backyard of a home where she had been attending a "girl's night" slumber party. Her death could have very well been an accident, but a compromised investigation raised eyebrows.

Up and coming Mia Zapata, age 27, was emerging onto the Seattle grunge music scene in the early 1990's with her band The Gits.  Mia was murdered on her way home after leaving a friend's house in the early morning hours of July 7th, 1993. Her murder would remain unsolved for 10 years until DNA testing would finally bring her killer to justice.
