Peter is a 61 year old family physician (also known as a General Practitioner) in the United Kingdom.  He has a conventional family and work life, but has been contemplating what he might do if our present comfortable way of life were to come to an end.  He is therefore learning to grow some of his own food, and is combining his interests in medicine, gardening and history by re-inventing plant based anesthetics, in the hope that one day, this knowledge might be useful to someone.  Listeners are reminded that they shouldn't try this at home.  His blog can be found at toxicplantsblog.blogspot.com.
