This isn’t my best video in terms of production quality. But it’s an important message that is urgent enough to take a shortcut on refinement.

I’ve been saying all along that we need to take back the Democratic Party and return it to the grass-roots. This video talks about an issue that could be instrumental in kick-starting such a movement.

I’ve been under the weather this past week and not as productive. Otherwise, I would have had this one out days ago.

This video was inspired by something Steve Anderson said when he was on the Resistor Vic Podcast with me the other day. He mentioned The Business Plot from 1933. Part of me wanted to say I remembered a brief mention of it from high school history. Another part of me said, “that was a long time ago and I’m just fabricating a memory.” So I looked it up and made this video. I hope you find it valuable.

Ep 12 of the Resistor Vic Podcast will be recorded live tomorrow night at 8pm EST. It will be live on TikTok and YouTube but primarily YouTube because that’s where my podcast software will link. I haven’t yet had an opportunity to figure out the Substack live option but I’m thinking I should.

My guest will be Tom from Dagger Custom Apparel, the guy who makes the Sunflower shirts and sends $10 from every shirt to Ukrainian orphans.

I don’t know if this is my best episode or not but I know it’s one of my favorites so far. When I started editing to try and get it down to a 20-30 minute version for free subscribers and a longer one for paid subscribers, I was able to cut about 10 minutes and I’m at just under an hour.

One of the goals of my podcast is to expose people to the idea that politics is all of us and not what we see portrayed on TV. I think Steve is a great example of that. He’s using his intellect and his experience to study our history, couple it with our current reality, and inform people. This is a part of our political process that folks don’t think about as being a part of the process.

This past week I saw several videos with progressive candidates who are being shut out by establishment Dems at all levels of the party. They’re having a hard time raising money and getting exposure in their communities.

Change will not come if we wait for some other person or some other time. We are the ones we've been waiting for. We are the change that we seek. - Barack Obama

The Democratic Party isn’t going to let progressive change happen without a fight. It’s up to us to make it happen. We have to do everything we can to make sure progressive candidates are able to get their names and policy positions known to the voters they want to represent.
