Some people learn this early on, while others, including me, learn it much later. Even though I learned this behavior much later than many others, I am glad that I found it and started doing it. What am I talking about? Putting your gratitude into journaling. Developing the right mindset for you should include a written record of your expressions of gratitude, appreciation, and thankfulness. I agree with all of you that there is more to it than just that, but if you are ready to journal, starting with gratefulness is a "GREAT" full way to get going.
Perhaps you've heard it said that no one can tell you what you can or can't do unless you give them permission. When it comes to taking control of your life and living forward, you must resist anyone who says you can't do it or you don't have what it takes to do it. John will take about the power of a resolute mindset.
What being stuck looks like is personal and unique to each of us. Getting unstuck may also be individually unique, but having a "framework" for getting unstuck can be useful, regardless of our situations. I want to suggest a possible solution. I t worked for me, and it could work for you.
A fixed mindset is not a bad thing unless you deploy it as a weapon against the mindset of others. Emotional trespass is ugly, and we do it far more than we realize. Let's get some perspective.
Being stuck is not a crime. It's not a sign of weakness. Being stuck happens, and we must find a way to shift out of our "Stuckness." Like you, I have been stuck many times. Most of those moments were because of the choices I made. If we are honest, 20/20 hindsight will prove that if we knew then what we know now, we would have tried to avoid most of those choices. In episode 40 of "RESOLVE to Live Forward," we will begin the process of self-examination and identify what causes us to get stuck. Thanks for listening.
Being emotionally stuck can manifest in subtle and not-so-subtle ways. It often feels like the wheels of life are in the mud. You are expending energy but not making any forward progress. In today's episode, we'll look at some examples of what this kind of "STUCK" might look like. As we move forward over the course of future episodes, we'll look at some tools that will help us shift from stuck to forward living.
Jim Rohn said, "We are the average of the five people we spend the most time with." Please consider that we have five senses. Do we try to govern what we allow those senses to spend the most time with? Would it be correct to say that we are the "SUM" of what we allow our five senses to be most often exposed to? What if I told you that we are the average of what we allow ourselves to be "exposed" to the most often? This should cause us to realize that we are the sum of the things we allow ourselves to be stimulated by each day of our lives. We must be accountable. We must stop blaming others and take control of our choices.
There is one way to resurrect enthusiasm amid life's struggles: gratitude! Here's a challenge: Can you recall a specific moment that always brings a smile to your face? If you can, then you can generate newfound enthusiasm in that exact moment. Today, we ponder the power of positive mental images and their invigorating power in our emotional framework. We are what we think.
There will be days when we are not enthusiastic. That's life, and I get it. Although "fake it till you make it" may seem phony, in reality we must choose to be enthusiastic to make a difference in our now and in the future. Choosing to practice enthusiasm regardless of how we feel is a way to plant powerful positive seeds in our lives and the lives of others. Enthusiastic people are the "light in the fog of darkness."
The last letter in the power word, "RESOLVE" is the letter E. In this context it represents enthusiasm. The seven best practices of successful daily living are all wrapped together in an enthusiastic mindset. However, there are many situations where we must Choose to be Enthusiastic. Today we'll talk about making the right choice.
