When we come to Jesus, He makes us a part of a new family. We are accepted by Him not because of what we have done, but because of who He is. Both the prodigal son and his older brother would learn this important truth from their father.

God can turn a dead-end into a doorway. No matter how far from God someone seems, they are still not beyond His reach. That is what we learn from the story of the Prodigal Son and that truth should give us hope as we seek to engage our world with Gospel.

You find rest where there is room. That is what Jesus told the people listening to Him in Matthew 11. Jesus said "Come unto Me." That statement was a call to move away from everything, and move towards Him. Make margin. Life happens in the margin.

You are not here by accident, you are here by appointment. When Elijah was told by God to seek help from a widow woman, he learned that anybody could serve God regardless of who they were or what they had.

Material cannot fulfill the spiritual. Meaning is found in relationship with people and fulfilled in relationship with God. This is what Zacchaeus learned from meeting Jesus and it's what we can learn from his story.

Wisdom doesn't come from looking within, it comes from looking above. When Joseph was brought to Pharaoh to interpret his dreams, Joseph answered with wisdom and as a result was elevated. That principle still applies today. When we walk in wisdom, our lives are made better.

The priorities you set today will create the patterns you live tomorrow. Daniel was a man who prioritized his relationship with God and it created a pattern in his life that propelled him to great deeds.

His faithfulness is greater than your failure. Gods faithfulness sustained Paul throughout his storm and gave him refuge through it. When our hope is in Gods strength, it always creates courage.

What God does in you is more important than what He does for you. In Luke 5, four friends stopped at nothing to bring their paralyzed friend to Jesus. Initially Jesus didn't heal the man's broken body because he wanted to heal the man's broken soul. That is what God wants to do for us today.

With Jesus, what you gain is always greater than what you give. Mary, the mother of Jesus, was willing to give up who she was and everything she had for the sake of Gods calling. Her story inspires us to do the same.
