When our burdens are in God's hands, they're in good hands. The prophet Isaiah foretold the birth of Jesus and we learn that Jesus wants to shoulder our burdens and stick with us every step of our journey.

The birth of Jesus represents God becoming human. Few things in the Bible are more encouraging than that doctrine. Because God became human, He understands us better than anyone else on earth. Because God became human, He is no longer distant, but near.

Be thankful in the moment, for the moment. God parted the Jordan River so Joshua could lead the children of Israel into the Promised Land. After the river was parted, they built a memorial to give thanks for what God had done. When we are thankful, we memorialize what God does for us.

The life of a Christian ought to be postured outward, toward others. One of the primary differences between Christians and all other people is that they care about others as Jesus cared. Jesus gave us this example in Matthew 4 when He made calling his disciples His first priority.

Because of Jesus, sin is not inevitable. In Romans 7 and 8, the apostle Paul described the conflict between our intentions and our actions. Temptation derails our good intentions, but Jesus came to give us freedom from the power of temptation and strength to fight the presence of temptation.

Jobs first response to the problems he experienced was worship. When he couldn't change his path, he learned to change his perspective.

Sanctification is becoming more like the person God wants me to be. Sometimes that process means we have to lose some extra baggage that holds us back. Moses learned this when he spoke to God at the burning bush.

You're not a foreigner, you're a family member. That's what it means to be a part of the Church. God has designed the local church to be the place we gather together with our spiritual family. The church is unique from all other gatherings on earth, and you are invited to it.

The Great Adventure begins at salvation, but how do we grow after that? Acts 2:42 shows us how the new believers in the early church matured in their faith.

Your religion cannot earn you redemption. Saul was a man who imprisoned Christians but became one of the greatest figures in the New Testament. This was because of the unearned and unconditional love he received from Jesus. Jesus wants to do the same for all of us. This is where we start our Great Adventure.
