Happiness is found in service rather than self. We find lasting happiness serving others as Jesus served.

Some things help us grow effectively. Other things help us grow exponentially. Christian community helps believers grow exponentially. The early believers in the book of Acts valued Christian community and it is still one of the most important parts of the Christian life today.

We reach the next level when what we learn connects to how we live. Salvation is the most important decision of an individuals life, and in this message we learn to connect that truth to our life.

Salvation is not assembled, it's accepted. Joshua was giving his retirement speech and reminded the people of all that God had done and given them. Because God has saved us, we should serve Him.

You step into the future when you step out in faith. Joshua learned this principle when he decided to send his army into battle against a coalition of five nations. Joshua took a step of faith, fought for the future, and God honored it.

Don't hide what God wants to heal. When Joshua lost the battle in Ai, God told him that the people of Israel needed to search for what set them back. To have the best year we've ever had, we must search for the setback.

Because of Jesus, you don't have to live to survive, you can live to thrive. When Moses died, Joshua became leader and claimed the new vision God gave him. God wants to us to claim a vision for the New Year.

Waiting is for resting. Sometimes we live through a season of waiting. A period where we're in between where we came from and where we wish to go. God has a purpose for even these seasons of life. That's what David learned in Psalm 37.

The birth of Jesus represents hope. Not just hope for some people. Not just hope for the religious, but hope for all people. This is what the shepherds learned when the angels met with them.

Your failures are not greater than His faithfulness. The birth of Jesus represents Gods relentless, unstoppable pursuit of mankind.
