"Signa Holding is under pressure: declining sales in the shops, higher costs for construction and high interest rates make it necessary to change some things. In June, Signa Holding had once again promised financial support to the ailing e-commerce subsidiary Signa Sport UNit. With 150 million euros, both the operational business and necessary investments of the group should be secured until 2025. Previously, SSU had reported that sales in the second quarter had fallen by almost 24% to 195 million euros and the operating loss had increased to 59 million euros. At the same time, it was announced that the retailer Sport Check would also be sold to a competitor. Now Sports Direct parent Frasers wants to take over the omnichannel retailer.
International roll-out of Thomas Sabo´s new pop-up stores
The newly rolled-out pop-up concept is based on Charm Club, a community concept founded in April 2023.
The first locations of the completely redesigned pop-up stores were realized in the Alstertal shopping center in Hamburg and in the Pasing Arcaden in Munich. Further implementations will follow in the Shoppi Tivoli shopping center in Zurich as well as in the Spanish El Corte Ingles department stores nationwide. On the Spanish Costa Brava, in Barcelona and on Ibiza the implementations have already taken place.
In order to ensure the most flexible adaptation possible to the different sized spaces starting from 18 sq m, the focus is on a modular design of the furniture used. Presented are the latest products of the Charm designs, but activities for an extended brand experience, such as raffles or different marketing campaigns are also implemented.
Thomas Sabo, the company’s founder said in a statement, “With the new approach for the Charm Club, we are targeting the young audience and the clientele of tomorrow and implementing this with a completely new POS concept as well as various activities for our community.”"
Further openings in the UK are planned in Leeds and Cambridge, according to Sabo.
The market launch initially only took place online in 2021, followed by stationary stores in Austria and Germany and an address in Paris last year.
