What are the Most Expensive Cities to live in the US?
We can all agree that life is expensive. Especially when your passion is travel. But in some cities, the cost of living is so astronomical it makes it impossible for the Average Joe to stop through without some seriously conscious and budget-savvy behaviors. Think you’ve got the green to make it in some of the United States’ most expensive cities? Before you take the leap, consult our list below to find out just what you’re in for in the nation’s priciest locations.
Known for supplying the U.S. with the trendiest restaurants, an uber-sophisticated art, and cultural scene, and more monthly events than some states see in a year, the Big Apple is the nation’s buzzing entertainment hub. But make sure you bring some money to the table; there’s a price for all that glitz and glamour. According to Business Insider, the cost of living on this small island city is roughly double the national average. Rent is notoriously outrageous with the average settling around $3,600 a month. Owning a car in this city further racks up the bill with hundreds spent on parking and thousands spent on insurance annually.

The Many Benefits of Yoga - Mind, and Body
Yoga, an ancient practice and meditation, has become increasingly popular in today's busy society. For many people, yoga provides a retreat from their chaotic and busy lives. This is true whether you're practicing downward facing dog posture on a mat in your bedroom, in an ashram in India or even in New York City's Times Square. Yoga provides many other mental and physical benefits. Some of these extend to the kitchen table.
There are many types of yoga. Hatha (a combination of many styles) is one of the most popular styles. It is a more physical type of yoga rather than a still, meditative form. Hatha yoga focuses on pranayamas (breath-controlled exercises). These are followed by a series of asanas (yoga postures), which end with savasana (a resting period).
The goal during yoga practice is to challenge yourself physically, but not to feel overwhelmed. At this "edge," the focus is on your breath while your mind is accepting and calm.

Can the Covid Vaccine Protect Me Against Virus Variants?
While it’s true that the virus variants are a significant public health concern, the unrelenting focus on each new variant has created undue alarm and a false impression that vaccines don’t protect us against the various variants that continue to emerge.
“I use the term ‘scariants,’” said Dr. Eric Topol, professor of molecular medicine at Scripps Research in La Jolla, Calif., referring to much of the media coverage of the variants. “Even my wife was saying, ‘What about this double mutant?’ It drives me nuts. People are scared unnecessarily. If you’re fully vaccinated, two weeks post dose, you shouldn’t have to worry about variants at all.”

History of the Statue of Liberty - Lesser Known Facts
The Statue of Liberty has become such a legendary representation of New York City and America itself, it's hard to imagine a time before it found a place in the skyline. It all began in the 1860s when French poet and antislavery activist Édouard de Laboulaye proposed the idea of a post-Civil War commemoration of America's newfound freedoms and democracy. He believed France should give a great monument as a gift to the United States to celebrate both the Union's victory in the Civil War, and the abolition of slavery.
The idea resonated with a young French sculptor named Frédéric Auguste Bartholdi who'd been experimenting with large-scale works. Bartholdi started drafting designs, and the original goal was to complete the ambitious artistic endeavor by 1876, to mark the centennial of the American Declaration of Independence. The statue was set to represent the goodwill between America and France.

What's the difference - Vegan vs. Vegetarian?
Veganism Is About More Than What You Eat
Although vegetarians and vegans may choose to avoid animal products for similar purposes, this choice often extends beyond diet for vegans.
In fact, veganism is often considered a lifestyle strongly anchored in animal rights.
For this reason, many vegans also avoid purchasing clothing items containing silk, wool, leather or suede.
What’s more, many vegans boycott companies that test on animals and only purchase cosmetics that are free of animal by-products.
Ethical vegans also tend to steer clear of circuses, zoos, rodeos, horse races and any other activities involving the use of animals for entertainment.
Finally, many environmentalists adopt a vegan diet for its reduced impact on the earth’s resources and the benefits it has against climate change

In a highly unusual move, a U.S. health agency raised concerns on Tuesday that AstraZeneca had not provided the most current data about its Covid-19 vaccine in a press release it issued Monday.
In the release, which garnered excitement from public health experts, the company said its vaccine was 79% effective at preventing Covid-19 symptoms and 100% effective at preventing hospitalization and death in a large trial of more than 32,000 participants in the United States. Five people enrolled in the trial developed severe illness, all in the placebo group.
