Episode 002 - Kevin Shea joined the fire service in 1978 as a volunteer and then joined FDNY in 1984. He served on Engine 227 and Ladder 108 in Brooklyn, and Rescue 1 in Manhattan. He retired in 1998 due to injuries, but is still involved in the fire service today through speaking and consulting engagements related to Spec Rescue and Genesis Extrication. Kevin discusses his iconic rope rescue ("Hope on a Rope") in 1991, the WTC Bombing of 1993, and the roles that training and fitness played in those outcomes.
