We often develop what we know, but who we are gets left behind. This podcast looks at why it's sometimes our values, our actions, and our strength of character that count for much more than academic knowledge - with tips to get you started on nurturing yours.

Learning to cope is one of the goals of therapy. Learning to succeed is one of the goals of coaching. Learning to love your life is the bolt on I add to all of my work.
This podcast explains why, and gives practical ways we can go about it.
Do you think resilience is learning how to survive? WRONG! It's not! MOST of us can already do that! For resilience you need more than survival instinct (plus practical capability(!)) you need mental, emotional and physical fortitude. This podcast gives you the practical tools - and the emotional ones to build it.

Some people cannot 'make lemonade' - they simply don't know why they would want fizz or sweetness. This podcast looks at how informal positive psychology exercises will help you move forward when you KNOW what you need to do, you just can't seem to do it!
Plus I set you a positive psychology challenge.

In this 'Relationships Special', I chat with guest Heather Carr about Love in Lockdown. What do we really mean when we ask 'have you been tested?'; never mind first base, how close do you stand on a first date; and does bubbling mean we're getting closer faster?
In the light of this year, an insight into how grief can affect us, what 'complicated grief' is and how to support ourselves and others is important. This gives an overview of the Kubler-Ross model of grief and the symptoms where it may be best to seek professional support.
This is purely intended as informative in order to raise awareness of the symptoms of Borderline Personality Disorder (BPD). This podcast also offers some ways which compliment any current treatment someone with BPD is using, but should not be seen as therapy nor a substitute for professional help.
The symptoms are often misunderstood and it is important to appreciate that the nature of BPD means they are not necessarily under the person's control - hence the need for professional intervention if someone has been diagnosed.
Related to Gaslighting, this podcast gives a snapshot into the behaviours common in Narcissistic Personality Disorder (NPD) and some tools to cope as both the person with NPD and those around. However, do note that NPD is on the 'psychosis' side of disorders so it is the brain that functions differently causing behaviour rather than NPD symptoms being a conscious choice.

Gaslighting is a form of psychological and emotional abuse. It isn't easy to spot by the person within the abusive relationship because many compassionate people will often try to explain or excuse the behaviours, made worse by the effects of the abuse itself.
