    Sensitive documents have been turned over to enemy hands. Secrets involving the manufacture of an atom bomb have been betrayed. Now its in the hands of Scotland Yard to investigate, and resolve the matter, if they can. Contact men, passwords, covert transmissions, and cloak and dagger stuff abounds.
    Working with Military Intelligence, urgency in finding the unknown culprit escalates, but he has a 3 month head start. Who had access to the documents? Do their alibis hold up? One by one, stories are checked out, and removed from the suspect list. Scientists, knowledgable men, responsible men, but who had a motive to sell out to an enemy?
    Inspectors begin to wonder if they have been the victim of a hoax. Is there any missing uranium at all? A break comes when a photo is identified, and a highly placed crook is taken down.

  • Aldrich Family – (Cross Country Race. ep48, 400528
    Henry joins his pal, Dizzy Stevens, for dinner. Will the choice to eat broccoli really win points in impressing a girl? ? Mr Stevens’ is confused over the need for a sleeping bag, passing math, broccoli, and running the cross country race. Henry manages to untangle the mystery, and tell how they’re all connected.
    The training for the race is beginning to prove more tough than Henry expected, but Dizzy pushes him to keep at it. Will Mr Aldrich cave into civic pride, and school spirit to get Henry the track shoes and uniform he needs? Henry takes his training to new levels, even to the point of pushing the line in convincing his parents to get him the gear he needs.
    Dizzy coaches Henry on the 3 and a half mile race. Should he give it his all, or should he pace himself? How does that advice compare to the Coach’s strategies? The long distance race is on, and Dizzy paces his pal on his bike. The challenges build when Henry loses a shoe, then has to run bare foot on gravel. Will Dizzy save the day, and get those sneakers at the last moment? The finish line is in sight. , and the crowd roars.
    Later at the dance, Geraldine is worried. Nobody has seen their hero Henry. Has the cross town rival kidnapped, or harmed him? A less sinister secret reveals the truth about the mighty track star.

  • Abbott and Costello – Impressing A Girlfriend. 450118.
    Audio resolution is low, but otherwise fairly clear, and good.
    Bud and Lou swap jokes about marriage, and women. Lou is put on the spot about his latest girlfriend, and his breakup as he talks about his last date. Lou rebounds pretty quickly, and is already getting ready to go out with yet another new girlfriend. Doesn’t he think of anything else but girls? Well, of course not.
    To get ready, Lou goes to a barbershop for a manicure. The barber turns out to be Mr Kitzel. The jokes turn towards hair and shaving. After a quick station break and time check, the show continues.
    Sebastian is wearing the suit that Lou is to wear on his hot date, and won’t give it up. Lou needs his dress suit so he can go out dancing. Bud is doubtful of his abilities, but Lou goes to prove it. They visit a dancing studio, and Bud tries to get Lou to take a lesson. Verna Felton is the dance instructor, and shows Lou a few choice dance moves.
    In the end his date falls through, but Bud tries to encourage him.
    PS: The show runs a bit short due to having the commercials and music snipped out by a previous collector.

  • Dragnet – Big Dance. ep84 510118
    Robbery detail. The cops are tracking a pair of hold up men, who have no pattern to their spree of crime.
    Starting their day, Joe Friday and Ben Romero get breakfast. Ben whips up a Spanish omelet for Joe, since his mother is away. The discuss some of the violent robberies, and the senselessness of it, as Joe comments on the concoction Ben is cooking. But the guys don’t have time to eat the best omelet Ben ever made. The kid bandits are at it again.
    On the crime scene of the little shop, the shaken store owner gives his testimony as he witnessed the events of the hold up. A matchbook, and an address, lead to more clues and possible suspects. Names are turned up, then mugshots, and identifications begin to be made
    The trail leads to a dance studio on the fourth floor. Stakeouts are set, but the bandits are still on the loose, but they’ve gotten sloppy and one is picked up. With the pressure on, gunshots, and chases on foot mean the bad guys are taken down, but Ben needs to return to a local cafe. The Spanish omlets are just like the ones he makes. I wonder if they’re as good.

  • The Whistler – The Thief. ep36, 430117
    Retired, wealthy manufacturer, Harry Ford, has a daughter. A phone call beckons Mrs Ford to come to his apartment for good news. Is this some kind of kidnapping plot? Though married for 12 years, she had a previous marriage, where George was presumed dead after a 7 year absence. Is he really dead? If not, what does he want? Who is Harry Jones? a reunion with a long lost son be a happy one?
    Passing off her son, Gerald, as her nephew, he comes to live in the estate. Paul, the secretary to Mr Ford has eyes for Allison, the daughter, but once she sees Gerald, she’s smitten. It’s easy for Paul to fall from Allison’s sights, when attending to his duties mean he’s busy, and she can be idle with Gerald.
    Katherine soon finds herself paying out all of her allowance to demands made by Gerald, and Harry Jones. Katherine may be forced to ask her husband for more money. An embarrassing position is created when jewels are missing from the safe. Who knew the combination?
    Ford mistakes a tender moment between Katherine and her son for that of lovers, and suspects them of the robbery. She comes clean about her past. Harry is on the scene, and twists in the truth are exposed, but who is the guilty party? The Whistler shares a few untold twists to finish unravelling the mystery.
    Note: Ken Christy is Harry Jones. He can often be heard as police commissioner Bates on the Gildersleeve program. Frank Nelson is Paul.

  • Lum and Abner – Broke And Stranded. 440417
    Abandoning the treasure hunt , our travelers head home. In a telegraph office, the gents try to compose a note to have someone send $20 so they can get home from Little Rock. The concise message is less than the ten word limit, so Lum tries to minimize the indignity of their failure.
    While Lum and Abner agonize over being broke, and finding the right words to ask for money, Cedric browses through pre-written telegrams for all occasions of greetings. The greetings for graduations, birthdays, and other events don’t quite suit the need, no matter how eloquent.
    Will their telegram create a flurry of gossip? The thought of eager gossipmongers gets the gents riled up over the imagined words of mockery.

  • Fibber McGee and Molly – Shampoo. ep423, 450116
    Hair is the topic of the day, and we find Fibber in a barber shop, with a heavily accented barber who serves him. Is six bits (75 cents) too much to ask to wash a guys hair? The highway robbery is enough to send Fibber storming out to tend to his own hygiene. What will Molly and Alice think about the high price at the barbershop. The ladies pay more than that on their hairdos. The girls switch the topic to zodiac signs. Is Fibber affected by the signs in the stars? Billy Mills plays, Fascinating Rhythm.
    Complaints about having to take turns with the bathroom, and supply of hot water is an issue. Beulah enters to get in her two cents on hair care. The ladies think the prices at the barbershop are reasonable. But is there new competition for the hot water? On the phone, Fibber learns that Mirt the phone operator has a Brother who dropped 1500 feet out of… a what? Harlowe Wilcox enters to hear of the hot water dilemma, and sell some of the sponsor’s product.
    Is the water hot again? Doc Gamble visits, feeling worn down after a busy day of seeing patients. Will Molly and Fibber feel sorry for his plight? The Kingsmen sing, the Whistle Song.
    The much refreshed doc learns more about Fibbers frustrations at losing out with the battle of hot water. Is there any hope of making amends? Will Fibbers diligence turn round to sabotage himself?

    Though he’s feeling energetic, Jim isn’t feeling quite energetic enough to fix the roof. With Cathy tugging at his attention to hear what she learned at school, he doesn’t have much of a chance to either read the paper, or do any home repair.
    Mom, and household safety win the day, which means Bud is recruited to help Jim. Meanwhile, Cathy keeps up her campaign for higher allowance. With nothing more to do with the roof, Jim turns to a job he has put off to the last moment, a topic of preaching to the kids regarding their procrastination.
    Buckling down to grind out tax forms in the remaining few hours to the deadline, Jim reads the baffling instructions on the tax form. Naturally, family distractions creep up on him to frustrate, and bring on the pressure. As Jim whines over missing information, and missing pieces of paper, Margret mobilizes the kids to clean up Jim’s desk.

    Watching the thrilling climax of an Alan Ladd picture, Gracie comments to George about the romantic scene unfolding. Gracie can’t stop talking about Alan Ladd, but does George come close in the romance department for her? Will she ever get the movie star out of her mind? Harry Vonzel enters to use the topic for pitching the sponsor product.
    Felix Mills and the Swantettes sing, Whispering. George has stormed off, but Gracie plans to win him back by making him jealous. All she has to do is sacrifice herself to make love with Alan Ladd, then cast him aside for George. Along the way she meets the Happy Postman. Is he having trouble with his wife being infatuated by Alan Ladd as well? The ladies in the audience go wild as Gracie flirts with Alan. Will he go along with her plan to win George back?
    Felix Mills plays a smooth dance transition. We find George sulking at home. When Alan arrives, will the pursuit of love be believable? Harry is back to offer help, and deliver a sponsor message.
    The torrid scene, meant to bolster George’s ego, has an opposite affect for him. Will George win Gracie away from the movie star? Will Gracie ever get the actor with the tough reputation out of her head?

    The lost treasure expedition nearly came to disaster when Cedric tor up the treasure map. Today we find our heroes in the wee hours before sun rise, digging in a farmer’s field. is their excavation against the law? The farmer can’t law suit them, can he?
    Caught red handed, Lum and Abner are approached by the farmer, but he doesn’t seem concerned over the hole on his land. He even seems to encourage them in striking it rich.
    Does the kindly farmer know about the buried treasure? if so, why hasn’t he dug it up himself? Abner worries the farmer may try to lay claim on their treasure.
    The gents speculate on what kind of treasure will be in the treasure chest, and Abner gets confused over what pieces of eight are? Some kind of pie? The farmer returns to clear up a matter of confusion about what the hole on his land is intended.
