  • Clint Lalum: Friend of Israel, part 2

We read about a veil on the heart of Israel, but do we know what that means? Clint Lalum has thought about the veil for many years, and offers his understanding of it in this second part of our conversation. How does this biblical analogy of a veil on the heart shape his call to be part of Christian Friends of Israel? He explains that as well as he tells us of the miraculous series of events that brought him to Jerusalem.

Clint can tell you about God’s answers of “yes” and “no” to his prayers. Sometimes the “no” isn’t pleasant, but it is necessary. There’s even a kind of “Mercy in ‘NO’,” as Barry Phillips and David Jones discuss in their midrash. Eved Adonai and Jimmie Black share aspects of that message in their music.

  • Clint Lalum: Friend of Israel, part 1
Many people feel called to Israel, but few can move there if they don’t qualify under Israel’s Law of Return. However, miracles do happen, as Clint Lalum explains. He recently moved to Jerusalem, where he serves on the staff of Christian Friends of Israel. In this three-part interview, Clint shares the series of miracles that brought him to Israel, how he came to understand God’s call for him to be planted there, and what it takes for a Christian ministry to make a difference for good in the Jewish State.

Clint’s story is testimony that God does call and equip people for specific works, even if others do not recognize that call in them. That’s a topic David Jones and Barry Phillips investigate in their midrash, “Responsible Shepherds, Accountable Sheep.” They are joined by our musical guests, Samuel & Benjamin Wearp, and Laura Metzing.

  • Israel Connections: Dean Bye: Partners in Redemption

The observant student of the Bible should recognize that prophecy is being fulfilled right in front of us with the return of God’s Chosen People of Israel to the Promised Land. That brings up a challenging question: are we satisfied with simply observing this prophetic process, or do we want to play a role in it?

Dean Bye answered that question many years ago. That’s what brought him and his family into the ministry of helping Jewish people make aliyah and return home to Israel. He’s been doing this through Return Ministries and the Aliyah Return Center, and now is leading a global intercessory effort for Israel through the Altar of Prayer.

Is there any possible way that Christians and Jews can find common ground on spiritual matters? Could it be that both need each other to bring the fulfillment of the Divine promises each has awaited all these centuries? Dean’s  answer to both question is “Yes!” He has proven his point in a lifetime of service with and for the Jewish people.

What more is left to do, and why should Christians everywhere begin to take interest in Israel? That’s the topic in this concluding part of our conversation.

God spoke to the prophets of ancient Israel, and he spoke to the apostles of Israel’s Messiah Yeshua. Does He speak to us today? If so, how? That’s what David Jones and Barry Phillips consider in their midrash called, “Hearing the Voice.” It’s a topic addressed by our musical guests, Samuel & Benjamin Wearp, and Laura Metzing.

  • Dean Bye: Partners in Redemption, part 2

How many Great Commissions are there? That question came to Dean Bye in the early years of his work helping Jewish people make aliyah and return home to Israel. Like most Christians, he knew of only one Great Commission, but there is another that directly impacts what Dean and his family and friends are now doing through Return Ministries, the Aliyah Return Center, and the Altar of Prayer. We learn about that in this second part of our three-part conversation with Dean.

Dean’s obedience to God’s call has caused him to get up and take action – especially the action of traveling to and sojourning in the Blessed Land of Israel. That, too, is part of God’s commandments for His people. How it applies to us today is the subject of “Three Feet,” the midrash by David Jones and Barry Phillips. Barry goes on to sing about this, as does Will Spires in his latest musical offering.

In this three-part interview, we hear how Dean got involved in this key Kingdom ministry, and how Christians around the world also can get involved!

The basis of Dean’s work is in the fact that all of Israel has been in exile for many centuries. How are the exiles of God’s people to conduct themselves in the lands where they have been scattered? That’s what Barry Phillips and David Jones discuss in their midrash called, “Daniel and Exile.” Not surprisingly, proper conduct requires intimate connection with our Redeemer, which we hear about in the music of Laura Metzing.

  • Margot Crossing: Retracing the Paths of the Lost Tribes, part 3

If the Ten Lost Tribes of Israel do exist, shouldn’t they start returning to Israel now that God’s Covenant Nation is back in the Promised Land? As we hear in this concluding part of our conversation with Margot Crossing, the answer is, “Yes, they do exist, and yes they are starting to return!” That’s the motivation for the prophetic initiative she calls “Ten in Ten,” which invites peoples from around the globe to retrace the steps of the tribes back to Jerusalem in fulfillment of prophecy. As she shares the concept of this initiative, listen with your heart and spirit, and ask the Lord is this is an invitation you would want to accept!

Our Creator’s invitation to join Him in His work of redemption and restoration has been open to everyone who is willing to accept it. Barry Phillips and David Jones talk about that in their midrash called, “Whose Heart Stirs,” and it’s the theme of the music we hear from our guests Lenny and Varda and Bill Green.

  • Margot Crossing: Retracing the Paths of the Lost Tribes, part 2

Where is the evidence that the Ten Lost Tribes of Israel still exist? Margot Crossing talks about that in this second part of our conversation. It’s there for all who have eyes to see and ears to hear, such as her friends of Mizoram in India, and their distant cousins in Kyrgyzstan who proclaim their ancestry from the tribe of Manasseh in their distinct culture, artistry, and language. They are just two of the people groups Margot has encountered who know their Israelite roots, and who are eager to trace them back to Jerusalem.

This is the work of the Holy Spirit of our Creator, Who is calling His people today just as He has done since antiquity. Barry Phillips and David Jones investigate biblical examples of the Spirit’s presence in their midrash, “In the Shadow.” Solomon Lopez and Rut Banks have been singing for a long time about the Presence of the Almighty in His people, and that’s what they share with us in song in this episode.

  • Margot Crossing: Retracing the Paths of the Lost Tribes, part 1

The Ten Lost Tribes of Israel are the stuff of myth and legend, right? That’s what prevailing wisdom would say, but that narrative doesn’t fit the facts on the ground. Margot Crossing can testify to that – particularly since she now has a daughter-in-law whose people know they are descendants of the Hebrew tribe of Manasseh. Margot has been researching the migrations of Israel’s tribes through Central Asia, China, and India for nearly 30 years. In this three-part interview, she shares some of her findings, and a new initiative she calls “Ten in Ten,” which invites peoples from around the globe to retrace the steps of the tribes back to Jerusalem in fulfillment of prophecy:

Set up roadmarks for yourself, place guideposts for yourself; direct your mind to the highway, the way by which you went. Return, O virgin of Israel, return to these your cities.  Jeremiah 31:21 NASB

Is it really time for fulfillment of the prophecies of the Ten Tribes’ return? If so, then we should see a calling and anointing from Israel’s God on people who will walk out that fulfillment. We hear some encouraging perspectives on the oil of anointing and the light of those who bear it in the music of Jimmie Black and Will Spires, and in the midrash of Barry Phillips and David Jones, which they call, “Do You Need an Oil Change?

  • Barry Phillips: Always A Shepherd, part 3

When we discover that Messiah Yeshua never intended to abolish the Law (Torah), we encounter a series of crises that challenge our beliefs. Perhaps the greatest challenge concerns the identity of Yeshua. In church we learned that Yeshua is simultaneously Son of God and Son of Man. What happens when we encounter differing points of view? That’s where we pick up Barry Phillips’ story in this final part of our conversation. His greatest crisis of faith occurred after he became pastor at House of David in Gloucester, Virginia. The outcome of that crisis influenced his roles as teacher at Remnant of Yisrael and Elder of B’ney Yosef North America.

The challenges to our faith could be considered challenges to our relationship with our Creator. Barry and David investigate that subject in their midrash, “That I May Dwell Among Them.” It’s also a theme in the music we hear from House of Aaron and Will Spires.
