We get to dive into Sales Enablement today. This is one of those terms that could potentially have hundred different definitions. What is Sales Enablement? Why do you need to have this infrastructure in place before you scale? Is your sales enablement strategy set for scale? When you do embark on that journey all things we'll talk about today, sales enablement is a critical function. Organizations need a mature sales enablement component in their revenue department for marketing and sales, because they work in tandem. If you're going to set yourself up for scale, this is where you want to rapidly or at a fast pace, multiply what you have today to reach new levels of your revenue production. You can't scale chaos. You can't scale manual work. If you do that, it's very expensive and impacts your profitability. When we talk about sales enablement, that could refer to tools, technology, coaching, training, content, materials, sales decks, automation for all of that sales process.

Why most fractional CROs fail without a high-performing team? That's our topic today. What is a CRO? What about fractional CRO? What is the difference and what are the pros and cons? A CRO or a Chief Revenue Officer is responsible for all revenue functions and revenue teams with an organization typically defined as marketing, sales, customer success, and revenue operations, those four components should fall under a CRO, they are responsible for the entire lifecycle of a customer from the first touchpoint through onboarding or that renewal expansion point. And all the revenue that is tied to that customer throughout the process.

Today's topic: Revenue Economics. What is Revenue Economics? Revenue Economics is a term that we use at House of Revenue™ that helps our clients see the true cost for their growth or scale. That's right. Growth and scale aren't the same things. We're going to discuss the basics of how to develop a 12, 24, and 36-month revenue economics plan that encompasses all facets of marketing, sales, customer success, and revenue operations, also known as RevOps to guide you on your journey to scaling revenue. We want to make sure you do that holistically and of course, avoid the most common pitfalls. This needs constant monitoring and evaluation. You're going to need to report against those metrics every single week, month, quarter, year, and alter the plan as needed. But hopefully, this is going to set you on your path to scale.

There have been stories that we've brought forth for traditional businesses, where we've been able to help them recover quickly, or they found their stride and just shifting a few things in the way they do their work. But today's a little bit different because this is a business that is very seasonal and was really heavily impacted by the COVID shutdown. If you battle the seasonality of your business, what do you do to create demand and capitalize on your marketing strategies during the off-season? How do you scale these strategies for the types of buyers that you're appealing to?

Let's talk about missed revenue opportunities of second-stage scaling startups. First, let's define what a second stage scaling startup is. Typically, a startup out of the gate is working to get proof of concept, product-market fit. They're working out their pricing strategy. They're building that first base of their customers and they grow through, typically word of mouth and referrals. And there are some variances there, depending on if they're a SAS or a technology company versus a professional services company or CPG, they all have their differences in how they get through that first startup phase.
