Reverse Jackass episodes

  • Ep50: The Reverse Jackass Podcast's 50th Episode (Nick and Evelyn sell out).

For our 50th episode, we finally do what every successful podcast eventually does: aggressively pursue sponsorship money. After narrowing the field to a handful of highly questionable finalists, we present a series of ad reads from potential sponsors on both sides of the border and let you, the listeners, decide who deserves our integrity.

Fifty episodes. Against all odds. Against some advice. And mostly, against basic common sense.

Democracy may have survived 50 episodes, but we're not making any promises it can hang on for much longer.

  • Ep49: Nick feared his roommate's nocturnal confession; Evelyn stepped in it at a drag bar.

Nick shares the story of a future college roommate whose drunken sleep-talking leads to one of the most alarming misunderstandings imaginable at two in the morning.

Meanwhile, Evelyn revisits her first-ever trip to a drag bar in Ottawa, where an attempt at friendly conversation accidentally turns into a social catastrophe she still thinks about decades later when she's putting on mascara.

Make sure to catch Evelyn's post-recording addition at the end calling out a certain liar-liar-pants-on-fire member of the Reverse Jackass team. We won't tell you who...

  • Ep48: Evelyn turns 45; Nick speaks up at the poker tournament.

It's Evelyn's birthday today, HUZZAH! The now 45-year-old Canadian Blade reflects on one of her favourite birthdays and the freedom that comes with getting older. Nick responds with a story involving poker in Vegas, a douchebag of an opponent, and an unexpected moment when he was called a name (you'll have to listen to find out what that was!) for the first time in his life.

Along the way, they discuss past birthdays, wrestle with appropriate terminology for various bodies of water, and reflect on how it's okay when some things you're certain you'll grow into never actually arrive at all.

Also: a reminder that adulthood is mostly improvisation, and maybe it's time to quit smoking.

  • Ep47: Nick lost faith in the school system; Evelyn lost control of the metaphor.

This week, Nick opens the episode by singing every preposition in the English language from memory like a deeply patriotic schoolboy.

What starts as a conversation about education quickly spirals into a discussion about wildly influential teachers, questionable school lessons, French immersion culture, and one unforgettable high school rumor involving a nudist park photo accidentally shown during class.

Then Evelyn shares perhaps the least responsible moment of her teaching career: a Grade 11/12 guitar lesson where she attempted to explain minor scales by giving them “family personalities,” only to accidentally create a horrifying musical universe involving a metaphor that could not be salvaged.

A beautiful educational disaster from start to finish. Reverse Jack-CLASS has begun.

  • Ep46: Evelyn survives fart jokes at Mr. Bill’s chili night; Nick wanted to crawl under the table at TGI Fridays.

Episode 46 begins with Evelyn making the classic mistake of saying yes when she absolutely meant no, which is how she and her husband ended up at Mr. Bill’s house for chili, bean jokes, and one deeply uncomfortable baptism interrogation.

Nick counters with a college-era TGI Fridays dinner where one friend says the exact wrong thing at the exact wrong moment…and the server shows up like a fart at a chili dinner: loud, unavoidable, and instantly changing the entire mood of the table.

Lesson learned here folks: don’t go to dinners you don’t want to attend, don’t say unhinged things (ideally EVER, but definitely within earshot of waitstaff), and if chili is involved, the group’s true character will reveal itself by dessert...if someone doesn't let one rip before then.

  • Ep45: Nick aimed straight for Brian’s face; Evelyn lied through the sunburn.

Episode 45 here on the Reverse Jackass podcast!

Nick takes us back to first grade, where a long-simmering hatred for a kid named Brian finally meets its moment: one perfectly timed, absolutely nuclear soccer kick straight to the face. The result? Blood everywhere, Brian snot-crying, and a missing permanent tooth. Justice is served, consequences are not.

Evelyn counters with two crimes of her own: first, running over her sister with a bike hard enough to embed gravel in her butt cheeks and somehow not taking the fall, and second, executing a senior skip day so clean it involved using her piano exam as an alibi, despite visible sunburn evidence.

Canada commits its chaos quietly (and without UV protection, apparently), and  America launches it right at your face...and somehow both systems reward the same thing: confidence and a straight (sometimes sunburned) face.

  • Ep44: Evelyn accidentally scared Indonesian chickens; Nick made lunch awkward.

Episode 44 is what happens when two people try to be kind… and instead create lifelong emotional damage for someone never to be seen again.

Evelyn shares the story of sponsoring a young child in Indonesia and doing her absolute best to keep things simple, relatable, and culturally sensitive… only to accidentally step right in it and create the worst possible threat for any 5 year old's beloved family pet: I'm going to eat you.

Nick follows with a story from his teenage years working at a theme park, where a well-intentioned restaurant recommendation lands with a thud he’s never been able to forget. What he meant as helpful was received as something else entirely, and the moment has been living rent-free in his brain ever since.

Together, Nick and Evelyn unpack the quiet chaos of good intentions gone wrong, the weird permanence of small social misfires, and the deeply human experience of realizing (often years later) that you might have been the accidental villain.

  • Ep43: Nick makes Evelyn play the "American or Canadian?" game show (that he created).

Episode 43 of the RJP brings us the most dangerous thing Nick has ever brought to the podcast:

    Preparation.

Inspired by Evelyn’s Canadian citizenship test, Nick unveils a game called American or Canadian, where Evelyn must identify whether a suspiciously flattering bio belongs to an American or Canadian public figure. Simple enough, right? WRONG.

By the end, various American's and Canadian's reputations has been dragged kicking and scream through the Tim Hortons parking lot, and Evelyn scores just high enough to feel both proud and personally victimized.

It’s trivia with a side order of sabotage...holding a Bob Barker microphone.

  • Ep42: Evelyn teaches Nick about Terry Fox; Nick unveils the "Nick Bognar Walk for Community Harmony and Mutual Care.”

Root doot doot, it's episode 42! We begin with Evelyn introducing Nick to one of Canada’s most beloved national heroes: Terry Fox, the 21-year-old Canadian who attempted to run across the country on one leg to raise money for cancer research. Nick, somehow, has never heard of him. Canadians across the country and shocked...and "the square provinces" don't know what to do with themselves.

From there, Evelyn asks what the Nick Bognar version of the Marathon of Hope would be, and Nick offers the only logical answer: a long-distance walk to 7-11 fuelled by enormous sodas, unexpected hugs with strangers, and a surprisingly sincere vision of mutual care.

Nick turns the question on Evelyn and asks what her charity walk would be named. She imagines her own fundraising sacrifice: high-fat dairy meets a Friday-before-a-long-weekend Costco trip. Truly the kind of public endurance event that could permanently reduce London, Ontario to one usable Costco for a few days, at least.

Canada gives us Terry Fox. America gives us the Double Gulp Walk for Community Harmony. And somewhere between the two countries, diplomacy barks in the distance.

  • Ep41: Nick keeps a photo of his colon on the fridge; Evelyn ranks her vices.

We’re getting medical on episode 41 of the Reverse Jackass podcast!

Nick takes us inside his first colonoscopy experience, from pre-procedure dread to the unexpected joy of waking up peacefully drugged, pain-free, and newly in possession of a full-colour photo album of his own pristine colon. He also offers a surprisingly sincere PSA: get your colonoscopy, especially if colon cancer runs in your family. It’s less horrifying than your imagination wants it to be.

Evelyn counters with her own scope story, including the Canadian version where you’re apparently awake enough to watch your own insides on screen and think, “Wow, that’s my bum.” From there, the conversation spirals into ranking drugs of choice: colonoscopy bliss, Ativan, Pasadena, gluten-free orange polenta cake, and buttered panettone eaten over the kitchen sink like a total trash goblin.

America gives you glossy colon photos for the fridge; Canada gives you partial consciousness and no souvenir. Somehow, both countries still agree: that little hospital nap? Five stars.
