Though the bible clearly speaks of judgment, the world today actually is living like there’ll be no judgment and no end to this world.  Most are just living for today, enjoying the pleasures of the world and completely ignoring their eternal reality.  Today, Pastor John will describe the judgment and the day of the Lord, which will utterly surprise many.  It will come without warning, like a thief in the night.  There are two options for your eternal home – with God in Heaven or in Hell.  When you believe in God, you go to Heaven!

In a leadership position, a pastor is often looked up to and admired. And it can be tempting for those in this role to become proud and entitled.  You can become demanding, expecting obedience and respect.  Yet, as Pastor John teaches today, a minister should be nurturing, caring, and above all, loving toward those he leads.   He should be humble and sacrificial, as Paul teaches in today’s scripture.  This is an important calling from God, to lead His people, not just a job to do.
