In our text today we read about Jesus on the cross ready to lay down his life for the sins of the world. Jesus, our Savior died on the cross in our place. Christians have eternal life through the blood of Jesus Christ. Let’s listen as Pastor John teaches the message today called The Word of Committal.

At the cross, the high priests and religious scholars and leaders laughed and made fun of Jesus in mockery saying, “He saved others and now he cannot save himself!” Then from noon to three, the whole earth became dark. At the cross, Jesus gave the word of forgiveness and the word of salvation and now The Word of Affection. Four women and one man are standing at the foot of the cross on the miraculous day of our atonement. Scripture says, "if My people who are called by My name will humble themselves, and pray and seek My face, and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin and heal their land." Paul tells us that prayer is to be the priority of the church. He goes on to say that this is good and acceptable in the sight of God because He desires all men to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth." In chapter one, Paul writes, "Timothy, my son, here are my instructions for you…Cling to your faith in Christ, and keep your conscience clear. For some people have deliberately violated their consciences; as a result, their faith has been shipwrecked." It is important to keep a clear conscience so it is not destroyed. Paul goes on to tell about two men whose faith had become shipwrecked and they were removed from the church at Ephesus in hopes to restore these men.
