Pastor Todd completes his series today on how healing works by sharing with us on the question of Why does healing sometimes not come?

Are we walking in hope instead of faith? What is the difference? Just as we need to understand our sin and Jesus' sacrifice in order to make a decision to follow Christ, there may be a certain amount of knowledge that we need for healing. Do we have any unconfessed sin in our life? Are we carrying around some unforgiveness against others?

These are a few of several other questions that Pastor Todd explores with us in seeking the answer to the question of healing.

We believe in Jesus's healing for today. The question is: are you ready to put your faith, as opposed to your hope, in His healing? Are you ready to learn about healing so that you can understand it?

As we have been looking at Luke 4 and Isaiah 61 we have observed that one type of healing is release from captivity. We also see in that another type of healing is that He came to set free those who are oppressed. We can be excused for wondering what the difference is here. Pastor Todd teach us that the Greek word for oppression here means to break or shatter into pieces. So Jesus is coming to set free those who have been broken and shattered into pieces.

So, where do we get shattered at? We don't get shattered physically. You can have diseases or illnesses, but when you talk about being broken into pieces, we're talking about emotionally, being broken inside. You can even talk to someone and say, ‘that just shattered me; I just feel broken inside; I'm hurt; I don't know what to do; I don't know where to go.’

Other forms of healing are external but to be healed from oppression in the sense spoken of in the scripture here is to be healed internally.

Today Pastor Massey is sharing a pivotal message for the church. This has become a core part of the culture at Revive church. Satan came to steal, and kill and destroy. Jesus came to bring life. Since we have His Spirit in us we already have this life in us. Sometimes we speak negative words over ourselves when Jesus wants to speak life. Today Pastor Todd helps us to focus on the next things that came about from Pentecost. We often celebrate Pentecost as a single event but Pastor Todd reveals that it was just the beginning, a kick off, for a continuing move of God. The people were continuing in awe at the things they were witnessing day after day, week after week. The signs and wonders from the Holy Spirit were continuing to manifest through the Apostles. We don't have those apostle's with us today except in the scriptures that some wrote. However, is it possible that these signs and wonders still follow the believers today? If so then the power of Pentecost can continue for us as well.

Pastor Massey teaches us today on the importance of giving up. In Romans 12:1 it says that we should present ourselves as a living sacrifice. This seems like an oxymoron or a contradiction. How can we be living and dead at the same time? It doesn't say 'present your bodies to a sacrifice.' It says to present ourselves to a living death.

So much of our efforts lead to stress and anxiety. Yet if we give up on our own efforts and trust in God's provision and calling that is when true fruit and peace and joy and success. Is it because we are not confident that He will come through with what He has promised?

Pastor Massey shares some of his own story and life experience as someone who always plowed forward for God mostly in his own effort. He learned that giving up his own agenda and replaeing that with God's agenda leads to peace not stress, not anxiety. There is good in giving up.

Our Pastor Kimo, elder and leader of our inner healing ministry, is on deck today.

Pastor Kimo reminds us today of 1 Corinthians 13. If we do all things in ministry, in family, in work, in the world but without love we are nothing because God is love. He proceeds to help us understand what love really means and it may not be what we think.

When God created Adam and Eve He created them in His image, that is, Love. When they sinned what was ruined? Love. In Christ, we are redeemed and transformed again into the image of God in Love.

The question that so many people in the world are asking is this. Does anyone love me? They may not even know what they are asking but they know something is missing.
