Hi and welcome to the elements from our Sunday service where today we focused on the Road to Emmaus considering disappointment, regret and God's role in it all. We are grateful for Jesus' infinite patience with us but we considered the importance of Word, of Sacrament and of Fellowship and how we might bubble over with enthusiasm in our faith.

It is important to recognise the reality of disappointment and how even as people, perhaps especially as people of faith we can feel distant from God.

Hopefully this is helpful and inspiring.

Here is the sermon from this week on the theme of courage with a focus on the courage to be authentic. A challenge for all of us and during our all age we considered how we are in different places yet in church we are reserved somehow (at least in our tradition). We had some fun today with styles and percussion instruments. Here I share the sermon with you and invite us to consider how God views our authenticity as we look at the story of the woman pouring oil over the head of Jesus.

We realise that it is not only our actions that matter to God but who we are matters

Thinking today about what it might mean to be audacious. We can be a loving Church, we can love Jesus but do we have the sustainability of faith to be audacious. Using Peter as an example we explore the story of walking on the water and then a brief journey through Peter's life to help us comprehend the need for prayer, discipleship and worship as individuals and as a community of faith.

I admit this sermon went in a different direction to what I anticipated but I found it helpful too. And a timely reminder that I can't, we can' t do everything in our own strength.
