Welcome to the readings and Sunday sermon for Sunday 2nd November where we consider being saints and old souls. We are looking at youth ministry but today took the time to remember that we need Moses as well as Joshua. There are those who do the work like Joshua but we need those who pray, who encourage, who tell the stories, who lead by example. Prayer is so important as well and we remembered that it is not an optional extra. Jesus valued it and so do we.

This was an all age family service with BBs and GBs so just a short walk in the rain thinking about hoarding and sharing, saving and trusting. And for the record the brolly was never fully opened.

Welcome to the readings and sermon for our 3rd Sunday of our Stewardship month with a focus on our offerings. Thinking about how we honour God, challenging the risk of being apathetic. We look at Cain and Abel and the woman with her last pennies and consider that it is not the quantity but how we offer ourselves, our finances, our talents. Is it something we do as a response or act of duty?

In the process we also consider how sin can infiltrate our actions and motivations. Definitely hitting the hard stuff but we were constantly reminded through hymn and reflection that we are loved by God.

Thinking about our Christian attitude to wealth, recognising that wealth is not the issue but the attitude we have towards wealth - our own and those who have it. Do we lead by example like Nehemiah seeing opportunities to help or like Tabitha/Dorcas who was known for doing good and helping the poor especially with her talent for making clothes.
