Welcome back everyone.

I have been away for a wee while due to offshore and holidays. So here is a short resume of July and falling into August.

Considering resetting after holidays, goals to focus on and things to look forward. Learning that when we are in the heart of creation we remember God is greater and we are more insignificant than we like to think. So hang in there for Psalm 8.

Welcome to this week's bonus episode with our call to worship from Psalm 145, the story of the wild man and the pigs from Luke 8 and a couple of talks. Today we are considering how often we take things at face value but when we look deeper, peek behind the curtain or read between the lines we realise more is going on. Considering our renovations as a tangible example, we explore the story of the demon possessed man and the pigs as political commentary and how we might understand a wonderful healing from a different perspective. We explore whether this is a story based on fact but used to share the belief of restoration and freedom through coded language. Maybe the pigs are an embellishment but still very important.

How would we tell the story of freedom and restoration of Christ in such a way as to help people make connections and find someone, something of worth?

Welcome to our Sunday Service - well the readings from Colossians 3 (some of it very challenging) and I have kept in the appreciation of our children and young people as it feels wholesome and we need a whole lot more of that in our world.

The sermon is there exploring how our witness for Christ is bound up in our values and our relationships more than in our creeds or doctrines. Something to think about in a world with too many poor examples.
