Welcome, beautiful souls, to another episode of Rewire to Inspire with your host, Jessie Brown.
Today's episode is a profound episode that requires a trigger warning. Throughout this episode, we will address sensitive topics such as suicide, sexual violence, and self-harm. Viewer discretion is strongly advised, as I intend to create a safe and supportive space.
The goal of today's episode is for listeners not to feel alone in their experiences. When we've experienced something traumatic, shame often surfaces. This is because a part of our brain called the pregenual anterior cingulate cortex, a tiny area of the brain, dictates our emotional response to things with the potential for embarrassment and tries to protect us.
During today's episode, you will learn about some heart-wrenching mental health statistics and why it's so common to feel alone in experiences that, unfortunately, are not uncommon.
Please listen to today's episode when in a safe space, and most importantly, know you are NOT alone in your experiences.
Please reach out if you need any support!
Until next time,
Xoxo Jessie Mae
