Today I’ve got another mindset episode for you that I think you’re going to find really interesting...
It’s Not All About You: The Spotlight Effect
Have you ever walked into a quiet room and instantly thought that people were talking about you?
How about feeling those nerves that take over before leading an assembly or presenting to your colleagues for the first time because of all those eyes being on you?
Or even worrying about what to wear, rehearsing a conversation in your head so it goes well or feeling anxious to go to the gym or run in public?
All of these thoughts and emotions are, of course, completely valid but there’s a reason they crop up…
Sometimes, just by understanding why something happens we can feel empowered to do something about it, or at least begin to work on it.
As you might have guessed, the reason we feel like all eyes are on us is because is because of a cognitive bias called The Spotlight Effect...
I hope you find this useful Team and if you do, please do share it with a colleague, a friend or a loved one and help them to rewrite their wellbeing!
