(注目(ちゅうもく)などを)かっさらう:steal attenation
Example sentence: I’ve never heard of this song before, it slaps!
Example sentence: I was able to squat 145 pounds today, no cap!
3. Ate and left no crumbs
Example sentence: a. “Did you go to Beyonce’s concert?” b. “Yeah girl, she ate and left no crumbs!”
a. Ex. 1: “Do you like my outfit?” “Yes! It’s giving”
b. Ex 2: “Look at that guy trying to get her attention?” “Yeah, it’s giving desperate.”
1. Describes something of high quality. You can say this food/restaurant slaps. More so for experiences. You cannot say “that outfit slaps”.
2. Cap means a lie so “no cap”means no lie or I’m serious. Young people also say “that’s cap”, “he capping” or just “cap”
3. This phrase means something was absolutely amazing! You can use this for outfits or appearances. For example “She looks good; she ate and left no crumbs!”
4. Ex.1 If you say “it’s giving” without anything afterward, this is positive and means something is very good/cute. Usually for appearances or actions. So this sentence means her outfit is very cute.
Ex.2 If you put something after “it’s giving” it essentially means “this comes off as”. So “it’s giving desperate” means “that man is coming off as desperate”. In my experience, I almost always say something negative after “it’s giving”. For example, my friend asked “should I text my ex and tell him I want him back?” and I said “It’s giving crazy ex vibes”.
