n 1981, two-time Academy Award-winning film star Elizabeth Taylor made her anticipated Broadway debut in a revival of Lillian Hellman’s The Little Foxes at the Martin Beck Theatre (now the Al Hirschfeld Theatre).  It was the Broadway debut for them both and ran eighteen months all over the world. On March 31st, Ann will be debuting The Shadow of Her Smile at Feinstein's/54 Below. Ann Talman, is an actor, singer, storyteller, award winning documentary filmmaker, and four-time Broadway veteran. This is her Feinstein’s/54 Below debut. Ann's loving friendship with Elizabeth Taylor lasted for the rest of Miss Taylor’s life. Ann’s new cabaret show, The Shadow of Her Smile, is directed by Bistro and MAC Award winners Lina Koutrakos with musical direction by Alex Rybeck, also a Feinstein’s /54 Below favorite. The show is an evening of story and song about Ann and Elizabeth’s amazing bond. It is filled with hilarious and touching stories that only Ann can tell, woven with Broadway and Great American Songbook gems. Ann’s imitation of Elizabeth is so spot on, if you close your eyes, you’ll swear they’re together again! “Talman is nothing short of amazing in telling her own tale. This is a master class in acting.” –Broadway World Order tickets here: https://54below.secure.force.com/ticket/?_ga=2.175839270.58178400.1640112491-1819795996.1624715827#/instances/a0F5d00001HaXahEAF

The Let That Go! Show with Kassira McKee and Richard Skipper Saturday February 26th 5PM For Pete's Sake Day! For Pete's Sake, Kassira and I are meeting this week on Saturday night instead of Sunday night and we will be joined by Teresa Cook and the topic will be The Evolution of Change. Evolutionary change is incremental and takes place gradually, over time. Slow, gradual change often takes place to ensure the survival of the organization. It's incremental in that it happens step by step, little by little. Teresa Cook is a clinical psychologist at the Memphis VA Medical Center, specializing in medical psychology. She is the Health Behavior Coordinator, Lead Tobacco Cessation Clinician, Pain Psychologist, and the LGBTQ+ Veteran Care Coordinator. She was a professional actress for over twenty years, performing in musicals, plays, television, and commercials. After moving to Los Angeles, she began a journey of self-actualization that started with psychotherapy and included energy work, Rolfing, sacral-cranial therapy, and acupuncture. In 1998, Teresa was diagnosed with Stage 3 breast cancer and underwent surgery, two different chemotherapy protocols, and 28 treatments of radiation therapy. She was prescribed 5 years of adjuvant therapy with medication. On the day she was diagnosed, she made a decision to change her life if she lived through cancer. While performing was a lifelong passion, the need to give back and help others became the next chapter of her life. She returned to Waco, TX to do two years of post baccalaureate work to prepare to apply to graduate school. She applied to the Baylor University doctoral program and was accepted for three years of difficult, life changing education. She graduated with a Psy.D. in 2006.

National Love Your Pet Day A day to embrace one special trait that makes us human: our love of our pets! We will also be discussing Reasons We Hold On. It’s like snatching a security blanket from a kid. Or ripping a band-aid off of an open wound. You can’t quite do it. Ditto with letting go of the past. That’s the dilemma, isn’t it? It happened 10 years, 6 months or 2 weeks ago. You experienced something horrible. You play the scene over and over in your mind. It’s anguishing. You try to let go of the past and do everything you can. But you’re stuck. And it hurts like hell. Why do we hold on if it hurts so much? How to let go of the past and move on? Join us to see which reasons speak to you and how to let go. We are joined tonight by Ron LaPlace. JOIN THE CELEBRATION
