Tony of Tony's Lyrics created a wonderful song concept, which I was most pleased to join in here. Tony and I co-wrote this one, but 95% of the credit goes to him for developing the analogy and song idea. I was gratified to furnish a bit of music and understated production to help frame this tune. Sometimes, when there's a solid song idea - Less is More! ;-)
Train Tracks In My Home Town ©
(Harris-Beach - 2018)
We’ve all heard that expression about….
Being from the other side of the tracks
Usually all about reputation
Or some other personal attacks
Knowing so little about a person
Or, anyone living on the other side
Why trash those a little different….
Or, cause them to hurt inside?
Chorus
No (train) Tracks in my Home Town
(No) Nobody’s from The Other Side
(There’s) No Tracks in my Home Town
Yet, sometimes we all hurt deep inside
(Because/And) You know…..Everyone has their Pride
(No Tracks, No Other Side)
People can still still drag us down
Even in our home town
Add some weight upon our backs
We don’t even need those tracks
Bridge
Same story on all sides
East and West
North and South
Up and Down
…..and all around
Sometimes those Tracks
Like all matters of The Heart
They bring us closer together
Or lead us further apart….
