This week on Ring of Fire!
Biden is out, and it looks like Kamala Harris is the new nominee, and the Democratic Party is absolutely crushing it in fundraising, polls, and in driving Donald Trump insane with this move. Things are finally starting to look up for the Democrats.
Reports suggest that Trump is already regretting his pick of J.D. Vance as his running mate as the junior Ohio senator continues to flop hard on the campaign trail.
Marjorie Taylor Greene went berserk during a House hearing this week when she thought about the prospect of Donald Trump going to prison for his 34 felony convictions.
And Trump is now threatening to sue the Justice Department for executing their search warrant at Mar-a-Lago - but that lawsuit is destined to become one of Trump's biggest humiliations ever (if it even happens.)

Donald Trump is celebrating the fact that Judge Aileen Cannon completely bastardized the justice system this week, and part of his celebration included an absolutely unhinged post on Truth Social. The former President praised the judge and then called for all cases against him to be dismissed in a show of "unity" for the nation, and then he launched a completely fact-free attack on the Democrats (right after calling for unity.)
Buried deep in a story from Axios this week is a statement from a "senior House Democrat" who told the outlet that Democrats have already "resigned themselves" to a second term of Donald Trump in The White House. This is a shocking statement, and it deserved far more coverage than Axios gave it. This means that Democrats are either giving up the fight before it even begins, or that they believe there is no way to beat Teflon Don.
Donald Trump's campaign is not wasting any time using the imagery of Saturday's shooting in their campaign fundraising pitches, which is what everyone knew would happen. On Monday, the campaign sent out an email that featured the photo of a bloody Trump raising his fist after being shot at on Saturday, with the email saying "FEAR NOT!" followed by a stream of statements depicting Trump as some sort of hero.
Donald Trump has repeatedly trashed electric vehicles and has promised to return America to gasoline cars if he returns to office. In spite of those promises, Elon Musk has decided to pledge $45 million per month to a Trump-supporting Super PAC, even though Musk owns the largest all-electric car companies in the country. He'll likely end up regretting this decision in the long run.

In a powerful letter delivered to Congressional Democrats on Monday, President Biden made it crystal clear that he is not dropping out of the presidential race and that it was time to drop the talk of replacing him and move forward on a united front. This comes as an increasing, though still small, number of elected Democrats are calling for him to drop out of the race - along with donors and 70% of liberal voters. But Biden is adamant that he can do the job.
Most of the media attention for the past week and a half has been on President Biden following his debate performance. The few times the media talked about Donald Trump it centered on how dangerous he could become due to the Supreme Court's immunity ruling and Project 2025. Trump, according to Democrats, has been hiding out for the last week, hoping to keep the media spotlight on Biden, but Democrats are now calling him out of hiding to shift the media's focus.
During a recent interview with Steve Bannon (before he was incarcerated), Donald Trump ally Kash Patel issued a direct threat to those of us on the Left. Patel stated clearly that "we're going to come after you," referring to anyone that has gone after Trump in the media in a way that Patel and Trump's other allies don't approve of. This is not just unconstitutional, it is insanely dangerous for the future of this country.
Kellyanne Conway is going to continue to get paid to push propaganda for Donald Trump, and her payday is getting even bigger. Fox announced this week that Conway would soon begin hosting her own show on Fox Nation, the network's streaming platform, just in time to push pro-Trump nonsense ahead of the election. Trump spent the weekend railing against the network on Truth Social, so maybe this was their attempt to appease him.

The Supreme Court issued their long-awaited ruling on Presidential immunity on Monday, and it didn't do anything to clear things up. The Court actually just regurgitated what the Constitution says - specifically that the President has absolute immunity for official acts, but not from other acts. But this is still a major victory for Trump, as it sends the issue of whether the acts are official or not back to the lower courts, which could create months or even years of delays.
Bloomberg is reporting that Democratic operatives are floating a plan to nominate President Biden earlier than the DNC convention in August in order to squash the talk of replacing him on the ballot. While chatter about replacing him has died down considerably in just a few short days, there are still plenty of voices calling for a new nominee - and making that happen while we still have time.
Marjorie Taylor Greene tried to hold a press conference outside the prison where Steve Bannon surrendered on Monday, and it couldn't have gone worse for the Georgia lawmaker. Anti-Trump protesters showed up and drowned Greene out with chants of "Trump lost!" along with an increasingly-annoying cowbell that sent Greene over the edge. Greene had to abruptly end her little crusade after no one could hear what she was saying.
And Democratic Representative Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez announced this week that she would be filing articles of impeachment against the corrupt Justices of the US Supreme Court who have gutted our rights and protections with rulings handed down this past week. To be fair, this effort will not go anywhere since Republicans control the House and there aren't enough votes in the Senate to convict anyone, but at least she is doing SOMETHING about the problem.

Lauren Boebert prevailed in her Republican primary for Colorado's 4th Congressional district, and this means that she will likely cruise to a relatively easy victory in November in the deeply red area of the state. The real disappointment, however, is the fact that the Republicans in that district had the opportunity to pick anyone else to represent them, but they went with the disgusting, perverted person who has proven that she can't deliver for her constituents - and actually votes against allowing good things to happen for her voters. They own her now, and they deserve all the misfortune that comes along with that.
A very irate and confused Judge Aileen Cannon snapped at federal prosecutors multiple times in hearings this week, and it was all because she didn't seem to understand how things are supposed to work under the law. At one point, she snapped at a prosecutor for defending the funding of the special prosecutor's office - something that Cannon has no control or say over. At another point, she told a prosecutor she didn't like his tone while he was arguing that federal witnesses should have their identities shielded.
The court-appointed financial monitor overseeing Alex Jones' media empire has now recommended that the entire thing be liquidated and sold off in order to pay off what he owes to the families of the Sandy Hook victims that he attacked. This could mean the (at least temporary) end of Jones' show, as he will likely be left with absolutely nothing.
As part of their Project 2025, the right wing Heritage Foundation is paying another conservative group to gather intelligence on existing federal workers to find out which people are loyal to Donald Trump. Those that are not considered "loyal," according to a report from the Associated Press, could end up being either "reassigned" to other areas or simply fired if Trump wins this year's election. This is horrifying, dystopian stuff happening right in front of us, and voters need to be alarmed about what's going on.

Kellyanne Conway has returned to her previous role as the chief lie-teller for Donald Trump. Over the weekend, Conway appeared on Fox News to falsely claim that Trump spoke to about 8,000 people at a predominantly black church in Detroit, even though photos showed roughly 200, mostly-white people attending his speech. In spite of the photographic evidence to the contrary, Conway continued to push the lie to make Trump feel good, just like she used to do.
Marjorie Taylor Greene is so desperate for Donald Trump to be granted immunity by the Supreme Court that she'll believe anything - including that a video from two years ago was somehow taken just hours ago. Greene fell for a deceptive video on social media that was originally posted by a Turning Points contributor that has a history of plagiarism accusations, with Greene claiming that the video was proof that SCOTUS was about to give Trump immunity.
On Saturday, the soon-to-be incarcerated Steve Bannon rattled off the top names on Donald Trump's enemies lies that will be targeted first if Trump wins the election this year. Those names include special prosecutor Jack Smith, Merrick Garland, and Lisa Monaco. These Justice Department officials and prosecutor are the ones that have caused the most headaches for Trump, but they aren't the only people his allies have talked about targeting.
And it may already be game over for Donald Trump in this year's election as a new poll has found that 21% of Independent voters say that his criminal convictions make it less likely that they will vote for him. They also say that these convictions WILL impact their voting decisions later this year. The only problem is that the public quickly forgets things, and this sentiment could easily die off before we get to November, especially since Trump's other legal cases are likely not happening this year.

Judge Aileen Cannon has officially been on the documents case for a year, and legal experts are saying that they are shocked she still has a job. These experts have been so repulsed by the behavior of Judge Cannon that they now believe she's no longer fit to serve on the bench at all. And the rulings she issued last week are no exception.
Last week, Donald Trump's shortlist of potential running mates was made public, as the potential picks were sent vetting information by Trump's campaign. And the list is nothing short of horrifying. All of the people are considered hard right extremists, with some masquerading as "normal." But don't be fooled - these people are ready to strip away your rights at the first opportunity.
The neighbor that allegedly had some problems with Supreme Court Justice Samuel Alito's wife spoke out publicly about their altercations last week, and suggested that the Alito family is "outright lying" about what happened. One of the big issues was the upside down flag that was flown outside of Alito's home following the 2020 election. Alito claimed the flag was put that way after a spat with the neighbor, but the neighbor says the flag was like that for weeks before things blew up.
Rather than giving themselves a raise, Congress passed a law a few years ago that allows for an insane amount of reimbursements for members of Congress, on everything from travel to housing. And a new analysis of the receipts has revealed that Matt Gaetz is one of the top recipients of these new government handouts, that actually don't require any receipts at all. And Republican Nancy Mace wasn't far behind him.

During his recent interview with Fox & Friends, Donald Trump claimed that he's "ok with" the idea of him going to prison. However, he included one very important caveat that many believe could be a signal to his violent base. Trump said that while he's fine with going to jail, "the public" likely wouldn't be, and that could lead to some bad things happening. This covert call to action is exactly how the Capitol Riots came into being, with Trump's rhetoric gradually getting more and more violent until the violence actually began.
Republicans in Colorado's 4th Congressional district decided to have back-to-back primary debates on Friday and Saturday, but Lauren Boebert didn't show up for the Saturday debate. One possible reason is because she got utterly humiliated and lashed out at the moderator of Friday night's debate when the moderator brought up Boebert's Beetlejuice shenanigans, which then caused the other candidates to dogpile on her. But her absence didn't stop the attacks on Saturday.
Marjorie Taylor Greene went off crazier than usual on Tuesday morning in a post on social media. Greene demanded that the Republican caucus in the House spend the rest of their days working on ways to punish every single person that is involved in Donald Trump's legal problems, saying that Democrats have pushed us into a "full blown dictatorship." Clearly she doesn't own a dictionary, but that's beside the point. Greene is demanding that Republicans abuse their power, and that is something that routinely gets overlooked by the press.
Republicans in the Senate, and even some outside of it, are begging the rest of their Party members to shut the hell up about Donald Trump's felony convictions. They understand that this is NOT a winning issue for the Party, and they would rather focus on the economy or literally anything else heading into the election. Apparently, there are still a few people in the GOP that have a brain, and they know that the polls are looking really bad for a nominee with a felony conviction, and whining about it incessantly only reminds the public about what he did.

It wouldn't be a holiday in the United States without Donald Trump posting something horribly offensive and inappropriate on social media, and Memorial Day this year was no exception. Trump posted a message wishing a Happy Memorial Day to all, including the "human scum" that have been successful in holding him accountable in court.
Arkansas governor Sarah Huckabee Sanders caught flak over the weekend for ignoring her constituents while tornadoes ravaged the state and killed at least 8 people. Instead of being their for her state during an emergency, Sanders had flown to North Carolina to catch a NASCAR event. This is what Republican "leadership" looks like - just like when Ted Cruz abandoned Texas during snowstorms to go to Cancun.
Donald Trump's campaign claimed that about 25,000 people showed up to his rally in The Bronx last week, but that claim was swiftly debunked by aerial photographs that showed a crowd much smaller than that. Trump has been lying consistently about the size of his rally crowds because he believes that is the only barometer to gauge how popular he is. And if he's right about that, then he's definitely in trouble.
Donald Trump threw a fit on Tuesday morning over Republican Representative, and House Freedom Caucus Chair, Bob Good. Trump got on Truth Social and attacked Good as being bad, and then went on to endorse his primary opponent. Good's race has split Republicans in the House, with some endorsing his opponent while others are standing by him. But the big question is why is this hard right lawmaker even facing a challenge? The answer is even dumber than you'd expect.

The defense team rested their case in Donald Trump's hush money trial a little before noon on Tuesday, and the former President never took the stand. Trump had promised multiple times that he would be testifying in his own defense, and the consensus was that this would be a horrible idea for his trial team. Apparently he took the advice of his lawyers - and the prevailing legal scholars - but that doesn't change the fact that he still chickened out of doing what he said he would do.
Republican Representative Andy Ogles is so angry about the gag order against Donald Trump that he is pushing legislation that would make ALL gag orders ILLEGAL in this country. Ogles is part of a Congress that has achieved the least amount of accomplishments in the history of this country, and THIS is the kind of legislation that he is focusing on, rather than actually trying to do something to help the country.
Mitch McConnell is sick and tired of all the reports about the corruption of the conservative justices on the Supreme Court, and this week he came out and said that everyone just needs to leave the court alone. This comes after last week's report of the upside down American flag hanging outside Justice Alito's house following the 2020 election. But there's a reason McConnell wants everyone to shut up about the court - HE picked these people that are now under so much scrutiny.
Following the release of court filings this week, Donald Trump falsely claimed that the FBI, under President Biden's direction, was given orders that they could assassinate Trump when they executed the search warrant for government documents at Mar-a-Lago. This is not true at all and is a complete misinterpretation of the order, but Trump used it as a distraction so that people would ignore the fact that the unsealed documents also said that MORE classified documents were found at his golf resort months after the FBI conducted their search.
