This week, we have another banging breaks set for y'all with DJ Luv-le (@djluvle)from Faultline Breaks and Fraktured. This set was recorded at Unison 7, a fundraiser we throw in conjunction with many outstanding crews around the country. Here's what LUV-le had to say about the mix:

"I was absolutely honored to play my first Unison ever! The Unison crew is one of the most professional, welcoming, tech savvy, and just all around awesome crews I have ever worked with, and it was an absolute pleasure to throw down this mix of some of my favorite breaks (and some house) tracks. Much love to all who were hanging tough in the chat, and love and thanks to all the Unison fam. Can't wait to see what more they have in store for us!"

Last week, we featured an electric mix from Paket and the response was so good that he's decided to share an EXCLUSIVE new track which appeared in his mix for FREE! Enjoy and give him a follow! @paket-deejay

Here's what Paket had to say:

"After all the great love support that I received in my mix, I have decided to give you this totally exclusive song, which appears in my mix. My best way to thank you is in the form of music, I hope you enjoy it a lot, hugs . Paket"

About Paket:

This week we are welcoming Vancouver, Canada DJ & Producer Firestar Soundsystem (@firestarsoundsystem), with releases on Hotcakes, 83, Distorsion, In Beat We Trust and many others. Recorded live from our LIVEcast Spotlight, we can't really describe it better than Firestar Soundsystem does…

"This mix really shows the diversity of the genre currently and also shows how the roots of breakbeats and UKG can come to the forefront of this genre and still sound fresh and unique. I wanted to show that in this mix, which includes a few tracks I produced as well as some great music by some fantastic artists. Enjoy!"

About Firestar Soundsystem:

Canada's Firestar Soundsystem have discovered a land ripe with dank warehouses, neon lit dance floors and massive bass bins. A land where ragga junglists and bassline house heads have made dirty breakbeat babies.

Back to the mix! Here's what he had to say about the mix:

"This mix was recorded live from Unison 7, a benefit for the Asian Pacific Fund. I always have fun playing for the Unison team and this was no different. I am completely honored to be included in the Ripecast alongside some amazing DJs and producers. A special treat for me is that I did not record my set and some wonderful soul was able to grab the audio from the stream, so this was a big surprise! Thank you for having me Space Cowboys! "

About Denver Drake:

Denver is Santa Cruz area DJ. He started DJing for family dance parties on an iPad and fell in love with all the crazy good electronic music that has been coming out for the last several years. He has done several weddings and school dances and loves to share music and show people a good time. New school house, bass house, tech house, g house, and occasionally breaks is on the menu for most of his favorite sets. He grew up listening to lots of hip hop and punk and tries to bring a level of fun and angst in every set.

We have a few more sets from Unison 6 coming your way. This week, we're pleased to welcome DJ BioJeff from 3 Degrees for the first time on the RIPEcast and it's a bumpin' fun journey. Enjoy!

Here's what Jeff had to say about the set:

"This set is in loving memory of my friend Ezra."

About DJ BioJeff:

Started DJing in early 1990’s.

Used to throw underground warehouse parties and monthly parties in SF during the 90’s. Started producing music with friends at that time as well, one of those songs (Tech House/ Jeff McGann & Greg Sankovich) was featured in the movie, Groove (2001), which portrayed the energy and vibe of the warehouse parties of that time in San Francisco.

I moved to Colorado, USA, to start a family but have always continued to collect music and DJ. Since the start of the pandemic, I’ve been streaming on Twitch at least monthly often weekly. I’ve also started producing music again under the moniker data.source.
