In this episode Luke receives the privilege of sitting down with the only female bodyboarder to ever be given an invite into the heralded Tand Invitational on the rugged West coast of South Africa.
Riding for Hand Picked Bodyboards, hailing from Port Elizabeth and packing more punch in the competitive scene than a cornered Spring Bok on heat, please let us introduce Pam Bowren.
Pam and Luke talk all things travel, how Pam’s bodyboarding journey started and how the landscape currently sits for a female competing on tour.

With years of experience immersed in the bodyboarding world, Jack Dobson is a self confessed boog tragic who spends any, and all of his free time planking on the foam.
With masterpieces such as “Chicks” and “Outrageous Behaviour” already out there in the digital ether for all to consume, plus with the pending release of his new film eerily tilted “Goodbye”, Dobbo lives and breathes bodyboarding on a daily basis.
Sitting down with Luke they touch on many past and present industry topics, focusing in on film making, cruising with the Zion crew peak boom and where and how the sport can improve on its short yet decorated existence.
Peace, love n Boog ✌️
STOP THE PRESS - Port Macquarie’s unofficial mayor and the people’s champion, Damien King, lends Luke 30 mins of his time to explain the current redevelopment plan for the famous Town Beach Breakwall and how the elected state government officials are trying to force it down the local communities throat whilst ignoring the professional advice from the third parties who were employed to survey and report on the structures stability and longevity.
This intense discussion covers the origin of the project, the notification to the public, the procurement processes undertaken by the state government and the pending nature of the situation as community outrage continues to spill over into the streets of this iconic North Coast haven.
Have a listen, voice your opinion appropriately and remember - #saveourbreakwall 🤙
When you sit down with an individual who proudly holds the name of Tyge Landa Richardson Plasto, you know you’re in for a good chat.
In this episode Luke sits down with one of the industry’s brightest creative minds to strip back what aspects of the sport continually drive the man, preferably referred to as Tyge, forward in his pursuit to contribute in a visual sense to his beloved ocean community.
Being a major contributor to the sport in many ways, most notably through the films Relocation, Beneath, Royal Blood and Air Heads, Tyge has also worked in print media at Movement Magazine, producing two editions, plus he is the resident videographer for Melbournes own wave pool, Urban Surf.
With further ties to former wetsuit brand, Agent Eighteen, and the retail giant Bodyboard Kingdom, Tyge lays down plenty of inside info from a sport that has had plenty of its own valleys and mountains to cross.
We hope you enjoy the yarn ✌️
With the podcast entering into a new year who better to chat to than one of the Co-CEO’s of Riptide Media itself, Elliot Williams.

There was a couple of interruptions and intermissions in this episode, we've decideed to leave it raw because it's just classic woodsy.
With colloquialism being his first language of choice, Dane Woods knows how to call a spade a spade when the big moments come a knocking. He gives a moment of his time up for a conversation with Luke about scoring $20 headphones from office works, how booging with Harry n Noz is pushing boundaries and how growing up in quaint Stanwell Park was the making of him. #themoose
Boog lord Jared Houston perches up on the digital airwaves of Luke’s lounge to chew the good word and talk all things booging. With Hurricane season coming to a close and plenty of bodyboard camps running back to back Jerry explains the Puerto Rican way of life, how Orcas now rule in his place of origin and how wild it is to win 2 x world titles. #hesafuckingchampion
With wave pools shaping the next generation of bodyboarders period, it’s only fitting Aaron, the CEO & founder of Surf Lakes, sat down with Luke on the lounge to talk about the future. Covering robust wave pool design features, prototypes turning into actual pools and how Aaron’s recently joined the Gold Coast Bodyboard club this poddy has all your wave pool needs covered.
Pardon the interruption...
The gravy train keeps rolling on through the Riptide station with Mitch Rawlins stopping by for a well overdue yarn on Luke’s Lounge. With new tour wave locations spoken about, we visit Mitch’s Gold Coast humble upbringings and how one of the GOATS of the sport featured on two print magazine front covers at the same time. Throw heaving WA slabs and a few board material discussions in the mix and you have a fan-fucking-tastic conversation, enjoy good people of the boog world!
With head noise affecting everyone in some way shape or form during their days on this planet, it’s important to know how to employ the correct techniques and management strategies to mitigate the down days. In steps Nicholas De Graaf, a Western Australian booga, chippy, skateboarder and a mental health life coach who has over come his own steep challenges to be here today. Luke picks Nic’s brain on his M.A.W.S foundation, crazy injuries at Rotto Box and why loud hotted up cars are not his go.
