Most of the things we complain about are luxuries. I know it doesn't feel that way, but it's true. When I feel myself starting to complain too much, I remind myself of this. So many people would love to have that as their biggest problem.

Rules are there for a reason. Yet, they are also in the way of progress, safety, or completion of the mission at times as well. There's times to follow, bend, or break them. As a leader, there's also times you need to bend your style to match the dynamic movement of the situation you're in. All of these are skills that you can learn.

Personally, I think a true apology doesn't come with words, but actions and change. Sometimes the words are also needed. Just be sure they are followed by change still, otherwise it's just an attempt to restore access.

You don't control outcomes, but you so choose your attitude, effort, and response to things that happen along the way.

When you get tired, slow things down internally and stay focused and the most basic parts of your task. It will carry you way past where you thought you would fall apart.

When you have things you want to get done, but it doesn't work out as you wanted? Don't waste time being pissed. Move on to the next task and keep the momentum going.

I'm not immune to these things. I'm willing to reevaluate myself regularly and see where I'm falling short of my own words. This is definitely an area recently. It's not about being perfect. It's about honesty and implementing change as you quickly catch the drifting.

You being offended doesn't mean I have to agree or change my stance. It definitely doesn't make you right, either.

Of course you're busy. We all are. Just as much as we want to be. If that thing was actually important to you, however, you would find a way. Just say what you really mean. It's not as important to you as other things on your list.

I've done it, too. No shame. It's about awareness and putting skills in place to stop the thoughts that keep you from progress.
