  • 3/2/26: “A Holy Void of Reason,” by the songplayer.
Benjamin Goldenhour (the songplayer.) is serious about play, encouraged in chaos, and loves a good ol’ fashioned mistake; he has no idea what he is doing, but that has fortunately never been a hindrance. He lives in the woods somewhere outside Seattle with his novel-writing partner, rock-chewing mutt, and nap-dodging toddler. Listen for his new music on the second day of each month.
This month’s recording expresses the comfort in chaos and separation of value from meaning.

  • 3/1/26: “Annunciation Day,” by Cousin Wolf

Cousin Wolf is the indie-folk music project of Matt Halvorson, a musician, writer and infielder living with his family in the woods north of Seattle. He is sharing a new song on the first of every month again this year, and his song for today is called “Annunciation Day.” The title was suggested last August by a family member in Minnesota after the shooting at Annunciation Catholic School, but it took a little while for the song to come together. Featuring Anna Soltys on backing vocals and Joey Spilberg on bass (thank you!). I love you. Rise up.

Josh Jensen is a singer-songwriter from Seattle, WA. His honeyed vocals and fingerstyle guitar accompany a wide range of what he dubs as PNW Americana stylings that make up his music.

“It’s Alright” is a love song with “rise up” elements sprinkled in throughout. The song is performed on an acoustic guitar in Open G tuning and features mandolin from Matthew O’Toole. Mr. O’Toole also plays mandolin and bass on Josh’s recent album, This Is Where We Landed, available on LP and everywhere you stream music.

  • 2/24/26: “The Star,” by Tara Goldenhour
Tara Goldenhour is a forest sprite who destroys worlds in her little free time. She is mainly a creator, however, having invented countless ways of expressing love for the universe that gave her existence. This song is called "The Star", and it is about the simultaneous experience of loss and gain in a world of tumult.
