Rise Up Music Project

Matt Halvorson is a musician, writer, activist and father living in Seattle. Through this song, he considers the idea that we are a reflection of the people around us.

I have decided to dedicate the next three tunes to Black Women ancestors who I admire and who inspire me. This one is for Ida B. Wells. The music is not finished, it is a raw sketch. However I am excited to share the seeds of tune in progress. I really tried to play with dissonance and not stick to the same harmonies and melodic tropes I usually feel comfortable in. Thanks again to Quantumn for providing the great track.

Enjoy!
