This week as we continue our way through the book of Acts, we take a look at the story of Peter's miraculous escape from prison. How his friends were praying for this, but when it actually happened, they couldn't believe it. How do you or I approach prayer? Or the better question, How should you and I approach prayer?
This week in the series "The (not so) New Way, Pastor Josiah walks us through the story of Cornelius. How God used a vision to the apostle Peter to show him that this new way wasn't just for the Jews but for the Gentiles as well. Which poses an important question for us, are we holding on to old traditions or adding our own requirements that are holding back others from having a relationship with God?
This week we look at a story of Ananias. In the midst of facing persecution, or possibly death. We see Ananias choosing to engage with God, to hear and understand God's heart for what God was calling him to do. His obedience should challenge us all to ask ourselves, "Are we living every moment of our lives with the expectation to be used by God?"
Our series in Acts continues with, "The (not so) New Way." We take a bit of a deeper dive into who Saul/Paul was. Who was he, what was his background, education, why was he so passionate? Pastor Josiah points out how important Paul's background really was and how God used it to move His plan forward. In response to understanding Paul, and his story it leads us to 2 important questions we need to ask ourselves. How can God use my background/past to be a part of moving his plan forward? What is the driving force behind what I am passionate about?
