We will see a cycle of turning away from God, punishment, repentance, salvation, and complacency play out over and over again through this book and talk about what it looks like for us to consistently follow Jesus instead of getting stuck in this cycle ourselves.
This week, our big picture view of the Bible from 30,000 ft starts with the birth of Moses and ends with death of his predecessor, Joshua. We will look at how Moses led the Israelites out of slavery in Egypt before passing leadership on to Joshua, who led them into a land of their own where they could be set apart for God.
We're taking the next month to take a 30,000 ft view of the Bible. This week we are looking at the first 2,200 years of human history that highlights people like Adam & Eve, Noah, Abraham, Isaac, Jacob, & Joseph.
So many things have been changing this year that we have had to pivot and change the direction our lives are going in different ways.
America is known as a country full of wealth and freedom. Those are great things, but sometimes they can be negative things when it comes to our relationship with Jesus.
If you are speaking the Truth with little or no concern for the person you are speaking to, you are not speaking the Truth in love. So what does this look like?
When we remember where we came from, it's easier to treat others with love while sharing the Truth.
Truth without love is noise, love without truth is incomplete. Jesus modeled both truth and grace in everything he did!
With all the racial injustice in the world, God is concerned with justice. We may not understand or know how to respond, but we can listen and desire to be part of the change.
