With all the cold weather we have been experiencing recently and many of us being sensible and wearing hats, for this week’s check in with Glasgow based Pharmacist Elizabeth Roddick it is all about the sort of scalp conditions that Elizabeth tends to see people coming into the pharmacy with. 

RNIB Connect Radio’s Toby Davey began by asking Elizabeth whether dandruff is one of the more common conditions and whether you can get psoriasis of the scalp too.

Then to issues around hair loss and anything that can be rub onto the scalp to help hair growth.

With a lot in the news recently around health professionals changing obesity measurements away from BMI and a lot of talk about injections for weight management too, for this week’s check in with Glasgow based Pharmacist Elizabeth Roddick RNIB Connect Radio’s Toby Davey began by asking Elizabeth to explain exactly what BMI actually means. 

Then to Elizabeth’s thoughts on those injections for weight management that have also been in the news and some of the concerns that people have had about possible side effects from the injections too.

Finally a reminder from Elizabeth about a diet which can help to reverse type 2 diabetes.

Barry Snell chats to Optometrist  Dr Jonathan Denniss from University of Bradford, who is chief investigator for a new new study which aims to improve the way Glaucoma is detected.

The project, which is funded by the Medical Research Council, also aims to reduce misdiagnosis of the disease.
