529 Road Rage 101: Automation Wins!
Here we go, Coach — clean, tight, and ready to roll:
---
**NATIONAL DAY: NATIONAL CHINESE ALMOND COOKIE DAY**
**BIRTHDAY: DENNIS QUAID (1954–STILL LIVING) – ACTOR (THE RIGHT STUFF, THE PARENT TRAP, BASS REEVES)**
**THIS DAY IN HISTORY: 1909 – CONGRESS PASSES THE PAYNE–ALDRICH TARIFF ACT**
---
**AUTOMATION WINS: LABOR COSTS VS MACHINES**
Following California’s minimum wage increases, new reports show businesses adapting quickly—by cutting hours and increasing automation. Fast food chains and service businesses are leaning into kiosks, app ordering, and reduced staffing to offset higher labor costs. Some locations are scaling back hiring altogether, while others are raising prices, shifting the burden to consumers.
This isn’t political—it’s predictable. When labor gets expensive, businesses look for cheaper, more reliable options. Enter machines. They don’t complain, don’t call in sick, and don’t need benefits. The uncomfortable truth? The push for higher wages may be accelerating the replacement of the very jobs it’s trying to protect.
---
**NOT FIT FOR TRIAL: JUSTICE OR LOOPHOLE?**
A suspect accused in a high-profile killing has been ruled incompetent to stand trial, meaning they are currently unable to understand proceedings or assist in their defense. Instead of facing trial, the individual will likely be placed in a mental health facility for treatment until competency is restored—if it ever is. Cases like this highlight the intersection of mental health and the legal system.
Here’s where things get messy. The system says you can’t try someone who doesn’t understand what’s happening—but try explaining that to a victim’s family waiting for justice. It may be legally correct, but emotionally it feels like a stall. The bigger question: is this about fairness… or just another way the system struggles to deliver closure?
---
**RETURN OF THE DRAFT DODGERS? AUTOMATIC REGISTRATION COMING**
A new policy change will automatically register eligible young men for the Selective Service when they turn 18, removing the need for individuals to sign up themselves. Supporters say it streamlines compliance and ensures readiness, while critics argue it raises concerns about government overreach and revives debates about the draft—especially in a time of global instability.
Nothing sparks debate faster than the word “draft.” Even if it’s just registration, it feels like a step closer to something people thought was long gone. For younger generations, this isn’t history—it’s new territory. And for older generations? Let’s just say the phrase “draft dodger” didn’t come out of nowhere.

528 Road Rage 101: It's About Farts (Special Double Day Episode 2)
NATIONAL DAY: NATIONAL EMPANADA DAY

THIS DAY IN HISTORY: 1983 – DAVID COPPERFIELD MAKES THE STATUE OF LIBERTY “DISAPPEAR”

IT’S ABOUT FARTS
Dr. Michael Levitt, a gastroenterologist known as the “King of Farts,” spent decades studying intestinal gas. His research found that the average person passes gas 10–20 times per day, with anything over 22 potentially tied to diet or swallowed air. While men produce more volume, women often produce higher concentrations of hydrogen sulfide—the compound responsible for odor—making it essentially a draw. About 99% of gas is odorless, with smell coming from a tiny fraction. Levitt also identified aerophagia (swallowing air) as a major cause of excessive gas, often linked to fast eating, gum chewing, or drinking through straws.
This is the kind of science nobody asked for… but everyone needed. Bottom line: it’s not about how much—it’s about what’s in it. And if you’re over 20 a day, maybe it’s not your personality… it’s your lunch. Either way, somewhere out there, NASA literally planned for this. Let that sink in.

BATHROOM BOUNDARIES: HOW COMFORTABLE IS TOO COMFORTABLE?
A growing conversation online is tackling a surprisingly universal relationship milestone—going to the bathroom in front of your spouse. For some couples, it’s a sign of peak comfort and transparency. For others, it’s a hard line that should never be crossed. Relationship experts say it often comes down to personal boundaries, upbringing, and how couples define respect versus realism in shared spaces.
There are two types of couples: those who pretend they don’t do it… and those who gave up pretending years ago. The real question isn’t if it happens—it’s when the door stops mattering. But let’s be honest, just because you can doesn’t mean you should. Some mystery in a marriage might actually be doing the heavy lifting.

527 Road Rage 101: Bobby Can't Read (special double day episode 1)
NATIONAL DAY: NATIONAL COFFEE CAKE DAY
BIRTHDAY: JOHN OATES (1948–STILL LIVING) – ONE HALF OF HALL & OATES
THIS DAY IN HISTORY: 1933 – NATIONAL BEER DAY (CULLEN-HARRISON ACT) TAKES EFFECT
BOBBY CAN’T READ
Across the country, concerns are growing over declining literacy rates, with more students struggling to read at grade level. The debate continues over where the responsibility lies—students, teachers, parents, or a generational breakdown in education priorities. Standardized testing and curriculum shifts have only added fuel to the conversation.
At some point, it stops being one person’s fault and starts being everyone’s problem. When a kid can’t read, it’s not just Bobby—it’s the system, the home, and the culture all colliding. The real question: who’s actually willing to take responsibility instead of passing it down the line?
LOUD COVID
Reports are emerging about a new COVID-19 variant being compared to cicadas—highly noticeable and spreading in waves, but not necessarily more dangerous. Experts say the variant may be more contagious or symptomatically obvious, though current data suggests it does not significantly increase severity compared to previous strains.
Here we go again—but this time, people aren’t reacting the same way. After years of overload, the public response feels more like a shrug than a panic. The real story might not be the variant—it’s how much trust and urgency are left in the system to respond to it.
THE LEMON EFFECT
An anti-ICE activist returned to a church in St. Paul during Easter services to protest, continuing tensions tied to earlier demonstrations targeting a pastor allegedly connected to immigration enforcement. Past incidents at the same church involved activists disrupting services, leading to arrests and federal investigations over interference with religious worship.
Protesting policy is one thing—bringing it into a church service hits a different nerve. Whether you see it as activism or overreach, it raises a bigger question: are there still places off-limits, or is everything now a stage for the fight?-----

ELECTION SEASON
Election season is once again saturating every corner of daily life—TV ads, radio spots, podcast interruptions, nonstop social media posts, and even spam texts hitting your phone. Campaign messaging has become unavoidable, with both parties ramping up spending and outreach earlier than ever, turning what used to be a “season” into a near year-round experience.
At this point, it’s not election season—it’s election overload. The real question is how much of this actually informs voters versus just numbing them into tuning out. Maybe the only real control left is personal—turn it off, filter it out, and refuse to let the noise own your attention.
---
DARING RESCUE BEHIND ENEMY LINES
A U.S. airman rescue operation deep inside hostile territory has highlighted America’s ability to penetrate enemy defenses, with former Pentagon officials warning that such missions demonstrate both capability and escalating risk in the Iran conflict. The operation underscores the reach and precision of U.S. forces even in highly contested regions.
These missions make headlines for the heroics—and they should—but they also reveal just how close things are getting. When you’re running rescue ops behind enemy lines, you’re already in deeper than most people realize.
---
EASTER
Following the Easter weekend, collaborators and “She-laborators” checked in to recap family time, traditions, food, and the overall reset that comes with the holiday. From gatherings to reflection, the weekend offered a pause from the usual grind.
Sometimes the most important stories aren’t headlines—they’re the ones around your own table. In the middle of all the chaos, holidays like Easter remind you what actually matters… even if just for a weekend.

BLONDIE BOOTED
The What:
Reports indicate that former Florida Attorney General Pam Bondi has been pushed out of consideration for a key cabinet-level role, with sources saying a replacement is already being lined up. The move comes amid internal political maneuvering as the administration reshapes its leadership team.
The Take:
In politics, you’re not fired until you’re replaced—and sometimes you’re replaced before anyone admits it. The real story isn’t who’s out… it’s who’s quietly being positioned next and why.
---
US ARMY CHIEF RETIRED
The What:
Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth has reportedly asked U.S. Army Chief of Staff Randy George to step down as tensions escalate in the ongoing Iran conflict. The leadership shift comes at a critical time, raising questions about strategy, accountability, and military direction during an active geopolitical crisis.
The Take:
When leadership changes in the middle of a conflict, it’s rarely routine. Is this accountability… or a reset before things get more complicated? Either way, timing like this usually signals something bigger happening behind the scenes.
---
IRANIAN BRIDGE GO BOOM
The What:
Iran’s tallest bridge has reportedly been destroyed in U.S.-Israeli airstrikes, marking a significant escalation in the ongoing conflict. The strike targets key infrastructure, with warnings from Trump suggesting additional military actions could follow if tensions continue to rise.
The Take:
When infrastructure starts getting taken out, this isn’t posturing anymore—it’s escalation. The question now isn’t if things expand… it’s how far and how fast. And once that line is crossed, history says it’s hard to walk it back.

BARBIE’S BARBIE BAD BOY
Photos of South Dakota Governor Kristi Noem’s husband dressed in women’s clothing have surfaced online, raising questions and, in some circles, security concerns given her high-profile political role. The images, reportedly from private settings, have quickly spread, fueling debate over personal lives versus public accountability.
At some point, the line between personal life and political weaponization disappears completely. Is this about legitimate concern… or just another round of “dig up whatever you can”? In today’s climate, nothing stays private—and everything becomes ammo.
---
NATO SAYS NO-NO
Several key U.S. allies have reportedly refused to allow military flights tied to potential operations involving Iran, highlighting growing divisions within NATO. The move signals hesitation among partner nations to escalate tensions, even as geopolitical pressure mounts and alliances are tested.
Alliances are easy when things are calm—real loyalty shows up when things get uncomfortable. If NATO members are already pumping the brakes, it raises a bigger question: are we aligned… or just loosely cooperating until it gets real?
---
SMASHING BUNNIES
Costco shoppers are reacting to a massive 10-pound chocolate Easter bunny priced at $140, with some questioning the cost and others intrigued by the novelty. The oversized treat even comes with instructions to “smash apart,” turning it into a shared experience rather than a simple dessert.
$140 for a chocolate bunny? That’s not candy—that’s a family event. But in a weird way, it tracks… everything is bigger, pricier, and more “experiential” now. The question is—are we buying chocolate, or just the moment that comes with smashing it?

WHITE PLAGUE
Doctors are warning about a resurgence of tuberculosis—historically known as the “white plague”—with cases rising again in the United States. Health experts point to a “rebound effect” following pandemic-era disruptions, where missed diagnoses and delayed treatments are now catching up, allowing the disease to spread more easily in vulnerable populations.
We spent years locked down over one disease… and quietly let another one creep back in. The question isn’t just how this is happening—it’s what else we’re not paying attention to while we chase the headline of the day.
---
WOKE CARRIER IN FOR REPAIRS
The USS *Gerald R. Ford*, the Navy’s most advanced aircraft carrier, has arrived in Croatia for repairs, raising questions about readiness and maintenance for one of America’s most expensive military assets. The carrier, which has faced ongoing technical issues since deployment, is now undergoing additional work while abroad.
When your most advanced warship is constantly in the shop, it’s fair to ask—are we building strength or just selling it? At some point, slogans and messaging don’t matter if the equipment isn’t ready when it counts.
---
$26,000,000 LEFT ON THE TABLE
A Kentucky family turned down a staggering $26 million offer from developers who wanted to purchase their farmland for a data center project. Despite the financial windfall, the family chose to hold onto their land, citing heritage, legacy, and a desire to preserve their way of life over cashing out.
In a world where everything seems to have a price, this family just proved not everything is for sale. The real question—would most people have made the same call, or is that kind of conviction becoming a relic itself?

8,000,000 USEFUL IDIOTS
Protests labeled “No Kings” escalated into chaos as demonstrators waving Palestinian flags clashed with federal agents, with reports of cement blocks and other objects being thrown at DHS personnel. While most rallies across the country remained peaceful, isolated incidents turned violent, raising concerns about public safety and the growing intensity of protest movements tied to global conflicts.
Most people showed up peacefully—but it doesn’t take many to hijack the message. And right now, it feels like the Democrat Party has their people in full brainwash mode, where the cause matters less than the outrage. When thinking gets replaced with chanting, the line between protest and mob gets real thin, real fast.
---
TIGER TURNOVER
Tiger Woods is once again under scrutiny following a reported DUI-related crash in Florida, sparking renewed calls for accountability. The incident adds to a history of personal and legal issues that have periodically interrupted his legendary golf career, with critics questioning whether consequences have matched the pattern of behavior.
At what point does greatness stop buying second chances? Tiger’s legacy is untouchable on the course—but off it, the leash seems long. Would anyone else get this many resets, or is this what fame still buys in 2026?
---
NO WOKE HIT
Early buzz around the film *Project Hail Mary* suggests a potential box office breakout, pulling in strong early returns at the box office since hitting theaters. Audiences appear to be responding positively despite the lack of overt political messaging, with the film gaining momentum through word-of-mouth and broad appeal rather than ideology.
Are audiences finally voting with their wallets? If a movie wins by just telling a good story, Hollywood might have to relearn an old lesson—entertain first, message second… or not at all.

521 Road Rage 101: Then vs Now
NATIONAL DAY: NATIONAL SPANISH PAELLA DAY
BIRTHDAY: QUENTIN TARANTINO (1963-STILL LIVING)
THIS DAY IN HISTORY: 1866 - CIVIL RIGHTS ACT VETO OVERRIDDEN
---
THEN VS NOW: WHAT LIFE ACTUALLY COSTS
THE WHAT:
A look at everyday costs from 1966 to today shows a mixed bag. A cross-country flight that once cost about $80 round trip now runs $400–$600—but adjusted for inflation, flights are actually cheaper today. Groceries for a family of four went from roughly $40–$60 a month to over $1,000, but as a percentage of income, food is actually less burdensome today. Gas has climbed from about $0.32 a gallon to $4–$5, landing slightly above inflation. Cars have doubled in real cost, going from about $2,600 new to nearly $50,000 today.
THE TAKE:
But one category breaks the entire system—housing. A $21,000 home in 1966 should be around $250,000 today. Instead, it’s $400,000 nationally and pushing $800,000+ in California. Life didn’t get expensive everywhere—it got expensive in the places you can’t avoid.
---
INFLATION VS BUYING POWER: WHY YOUR MONEY FEELS WEAKER
THE WHAT:
Inflation measures how much prices go up—but buying power measures what your income can actually afford. If prices double and your income doubles, nothing really changes. But when prices rise faster than income, buying power drops. Over time, inflation has not hit all categories equally—food and gas have stayed somewhat in line, while housing and cars have outpaced wage growth significantly.
THE TAKE:
That’s why people say “everything feels expensive,” even when inflation numbers look normal. Inflation is just data—but buying power is your reality. The dollar didn’t collapse evenly—it held steady on food, bent on gas, broke on cars, and completely fell apart on housing.
---
ARE FAMILIES BETTER OFF TODAY, 4 YEARS AGO, OR 8 YEARS AGO?
THE WHAT:
Looking at three key points—2018, 2022, and today—tells the story. In 2018, inflation was low, gas was affordable, mortgage rates were around 4%, and housing was still within reach for many families. In 2022, inflation surged to 7–9%, gas spiked, and everyday costs jumped quickly, creating immediate financial pressure. Today, inflation has cooled, and wages are higher—but prices remain elevated, and mortgage rates near 6–7% have made homeownership significantly harder.
THE TAKE:
Four years ago felt the worst because everything got expensive fast. Today feels frustrating because nothing came back down. But eight years ago was the last time income and expenses were truly balanced. The issue isn’t just inflation—it’s that the cost of living reset higher, and families are still trying to catch up.

IT’S THE $$$
The latest Road Rage thumbnail concept leans into a growing frustration with political influencers and media personalities who built massive followings on one message—only to pivot when the money, audience, or cultural winds shift. The imagery centers around figures riding the wave of influence while quietly following the incentives behind the scenes.
Let’s stop pretending this is about principle. It’s about positioning. When the message changes but the spotlight stays, you have to ask—was it ever about truth, or just about timing the next paycheck? The audience isn’t stupid… but it is loyal. And loyalty is where the money lives.
-----
MIKE ROWE WARNS OF MASSIVE WORKFORCE SHAKEUP
Mike Rowe is sounding the alarm on a coming workforce shift, warning that America is facing a major imbalance between available jobs and willing workers. He even pointed out that voices like Bernie Sanders may be right about a coming economic revolution—though not necessarily for the reasons people think—as skilled labor shortages continue to grow.
This is the collision nobody wants to talk about. We pushed college for decades while ignoring trades, and now the bill is due. The jobs are there… the workers aren’t. At some point, reality wins—and reality doesn’t care about narratives, only supply and demand.
-----
TSA TIP-OFF TO ICE SPARKS CONTROVERSY AT SFO
Reports indicate TSA officials alerted ICE ahead of the arrest of a Guatemalan mother at San Francisco International Airport, raising questions about coordination between agencies and sparking backlash over enforcement practices. The incident has fueled debate over immigration policy and the role of federal agencies working together.
This is another case where people aren’t arguing about what happened—they’re arguing about whether it should have happened. Same facts, completely different reactions. It all comes down to where you stand on enforcement, and right now, that line couldn’t be more divided.
