Road to Tar Valon : The Wheel of Time Podcast

These chapters are the kind that draw us in and reaffirm our absolute adoration for this series. We are past the ramp up period, racing through trolloc attacks and laying down threads that will be pulled together later. Just so good! Next week will be the next four chapters in the Dragon Reborn and it just keeps getting better from here.

We are opening our recordings to live chat with our Patrons, as we will do every week. This is for all our patrons, from our $1 tier and up. Patreon link below 💗

It’s time!!! We are beginning our foray into The Dragon Reborn and we are excited…mostly. Why, why, why begin the book with a Whitecloaks chapter?! That said, we found many things to love and laugh about, as per usual. Next week, will be the next four chapters in the Dragon Reborn and it just keeps getting better from here.

We began with our favorite “Hell yeah!” moments, moved along to some of our thoughts on gender and class in the series, and wondered aloud about the many magic systems shown in the Wheel of Time. Spoilers and speculation abound! Next week: River of Souls 😎

We are feeling emboldened to just step up to the mic with a couple ideas and see where they take us. One topic tends to direct us each time and this week we traversed some of the unpopular opinions associated with the Wheel of Time.  Is it unpopular?  Is it earned?  Would it be different if the series was written now? We can’t say conclusively, but we happily speculate away in this full spoiler episode.

Eighty six episodes later and we are actually recording in the same room, the same time zone, breathing the same air! Don’t mind our excitement.  All this happy energy tumbled out in a full spoiler conversation ranging from our love of the creepy crawlies that live in the Blight to our desire for Talmanes to be played by dreamy Wes Chatham, and discussing the parallels between Egwene and Rand.

Next week, back to the 101s with the nation of Tear and our regular spoiler free front half and full spoilers in the second half.
