IDAHO Day on May 17th. It was created in 2004 to draw the attention of policymakers, opinion leaders, social movements, the public and the media to the violence and discrimination experienced by LGBTI people internationally, and is the date it 1990 when the WHO removed it from their list of mental health disorders. Since then it has been called IDAHOT and now Geelong is calling it IDAHOBIT. Geelong Mums was officially established in April 2013 and held its first collection event on 1 June 2013. For just over 12 months they operated from a small shed and from volunteers homes.

By August 2014 they had grown to the point that they appointed Kate Kent as General Manager, and moved into a large warehouse in South Geelong.
