Rou and Dassana help Amara clean up the dishes before settling in for the first watch. Amara doesn’t officially join, but sits by the fire stoking it while the other two swap stories. Rou learns a little about Dassana’s background and how she came to adventure with Indy and Sierra. They bond over talk of magic, past adventures and fears of failure. Overall watch seems to be pretty peaceful and uneventful.
Trix and Indy share the next watch. As Trix often does, they begin to ask questions about Indy’s past. Where does he come from, what’s his experience adventuring been like, and so forth. It doesn’t take Trix long to figure out most of Indy’s knowledge comes from books, and that he’s not everything he seems to be. As Indy offers Trix a spot with their group instead, Trix is left wondering what else he may be hiding.
Finally, Amara and Sierra take over. As both agree they prefer silence and to remain out of each other’s business, it is nearly an uneventful shift. However, as dawn approaches, Amara notices something flying off in the distance and the pair give chase to check it out.

Trix makes an attempt at dinner but unfortunately is heavy handed with the seasoning, burns the bottom of the pot and adds too much thickener to the stew. Left with a barely palatable, wallpaper paste like stew, the six adventurers struggle through dinner and conversation alike. Rou, Amara and Trix learn that the new group ran into Terryn while he was part of the caravan and found out about the missing children. They’ve been traveling to try and find some answers before heading into the desert and were attacked while setting up camp.
Hearing this, Rou shares what they know about the situation, leaving out their knowledge of the prophecy and the Seven Swords. When Indy asks if they know if a reward is being offered, Rou realizes Eight never shared that bit. Indy and Rou decide it’s best for them to join up, and despite Amara’s attempt to dissuade she only angers Sierra. Eventually the tension eases and they realize that, with the threat of a dragon and other potentially dangerous beasts wandering, they’re better off together than apart. Before heading to bed, the group decides on an arrangement for the night watches, with Dassana and Rou first up.

On their travels, the group runs into some traveling merchants and are able to purchase some paint and fabric. Their cart finally disguised, they carry on with less worry. When they set up for camp that night, they hear the sounds of fighting in the forest behind them. Curious as to the source, Rou and Trix sneak off to get a good look while Amara stays behind to tend the fire.
They’re mostly successful in sneaking up on the source, which they find to be a trio of adventurers, with their dog, fighting a dragon. However, when their faces are lit up by a gout of flame the dragon spots them. The Dwarf in the group throws something explosive at the dragon, which keeps its attention from Rou and Trix. Thinking the trio could use some help, Rou joins in by lighting his sword and trying to kite the dragon. Unfortunately, it doesn’t work as well as he’d hoped. Trix takes a shot and is able to partially blind the dragon as they attempt to save their friend.
Amara eventually joins in the fray when the sounds of battle start moving closer, grabbing the hammer left by Dawson. When she arrives, they see two of the strangers knocked out and Rou and Trix engaged with the dragon. Rou strikes the dragon with his sword and sees metal shining when some of the scales chip off. Amara makes her strike just before the dragon takes off in the direction of Cragsward Mountains.

The road has become a river from the flood and the party must follow alongside it. Slowly they trudge, pushing through the late hours as the water begins to die down. Eventually, the flooding ends and the group is left with a sopping wet, muddy road. Near midnight, they spy a few buildings off in the distance. Rou asks if Amara is feeling any exhaustion, since Eight never did and always kept watch. It is revealed that Amara is similar to Eight in that she feels no need for sleep or food. They offer to catalog the gear while the other two rest.
They follow a pathway up to the nearest structure and realize it’s a home, and the rest of the structures are barns and sheds. As they draw close the door opens and the farmer confronts them, but Trix is able to convince the farmer to let them stay rather than continue on the road toward the Greywater Inn a few hours south. Amara sets up a fire to help dry out the cart and clothing, but before bed the trio put their heads together to plot out their next steps. After Trix and Rou fall asleep, Amara experiences a moment of doubt.

Rushing water is heading toward the party and they’re trapped in a ravine. Trix spots an off-shoot trail leading out of the ravine and makes a desperate attempt to get to it, but the cart is stuck in the mud and the group is now trapped in a flooding ravine. Amara rides ahead toward the ravine’s exit and is able to get above the waterline, but the horse loses a shoe in the process. Rou climbs to the top of the cart to prevent being trapped inside. He tries to call out for Amara, who is nowhere in sight, but in the process slips and falls into the rushing water.
Trix tries to catch him with a lasso, but the water is moving too fast for their attempt to succeed. Rou is able to keep his head above water, and as he rushes out of the ravine Amara wades in and is able to grab him. Meanwhile, Trix does their best to distract Jimothy from the danger while they wait for help. Amara and Rou work together to forge their way through the oncoming water back to the cart. Amara casts a barrier spell to surround the cart and push the water away so that Trix can maneuver it safely out of the ravine. Once everyone is safely on higher ground Amara drops the barrier spell, ties the horse to the back of the cart and climbs inside.

Rou returns to his human state, the tense face off with Amara coming to a close. While he hops into the carriage to get out of his wet armor and clothing, Amara grabs some tools and begins to hammer Eight’s frame back into place. Realizing the tension is easing, Trix takes the opportunity to question Amara about their past. Amara reveals what inspired the creation of the first constructs, and Trix suggests making a new one so Eight can come back. However, the snag in the plan is that Amara’s blueprints and notes are back at the tower in the Wyvern Isles.
The more the group talks about Eight’s origins, the more they’re left with questions as opposed to answers. Rou is struck with the idea to have Amara talk to one of the Seven Swords and hands her the sword. Their disbelief is immediately shaken when Garac realizes who he is talking to. When the group sets off, it isn’t long before they’re in trouble again.

CW: This episode revolves solely around PvP as Kappa and Wren’s characters face off. While this is something we discussed above table, we understand that this episode might not be for everyone. If physical conflict between friends would be triggering for you, we understand if you wish to skip this episode. Your safety is important to us.
Rou lets out a low growl and lunges at Amara as the gentle plink of rain hits his armor. The lunge is successful and Amara is shoved onto the ground. She stands, sword in hand, and moves forward to attack. A pommel strike to the wrist dislocates it and Rou’s right hand becomes useless. Enraged, Rou turns and uses the momentum to shove Amara into the cart.
The rain falls harder, and Trix takes the opportunity to move the cart off the road so it doesn’t get stuck in the mud. They are torn, wanting to help but realizing in a fight between two powerful forces would be dangerous. They instead watch and wait, understanding the two are venting frustrations and keep an eye out so that it doesn’t turn deadly.
Eventually Rou is able to force Amara back to the ground and uses his heavier werewolf weight to pin them down. She tries to cast a spell through the sword but it falters and the blade cracks. Seizing the moment, Rou disengages and shatters the sword against a rock. He then decides to hit back at Amara emotionally rather than physically. It is then that the party hears thunder in the distance.

Rou preps the carriage to leave while Trix and Amara deal with the remainder of the guards. When they catch up to him, Amara releases all the guard horses except for one. Despite Trix’s suggestion that Amara could ride in the cart, she is adamant that they be able to ride off swiftly at a moment’s notice.
The group sets off, and as they do Amara begins to question the party’s history with Eight. When she realizes the party doesn’t make a habit of scouting ahead, they dash off ahead to see what might be down the road. While she is gone, Rou expresses concerns about their companion. He explains that while Eight has shown different personalities before, this one seems very different. After Amara returns, the party turns the questioning on her to see how different this personality is from Eight.
The more they learn, the more frustrated Rou becomes. The pair piece together who Amara is, which only angers Rou. Her perception of Eight and their purpose is the last straw for Rou, who lashes out.

CW: During combat, one of the NPC’s arms is cut off. Please skip 19:28 to 22:16 if that would be triggering for you. There is also a scene where the party kills guards that have surrendered. Please skip 34:35 to 38:01 if this content would be triggering for you. While we had a discussion about safety tools both on and off camera, we want to ensure your safety is considered too.
Rou makes a quick maneuver to the front door and tosses a handful of cash in the air to distract the guards with a scrambling crowd. Trix uses the distraction to sneak out the back, heading up to the roof to help out their new friends. As Rou exits the building he finds Eight surrounded by guards on the porch.
Eight suddenly begins to glow with a blue light and an explosion of butterflies occurs, knocking the guards back and killing many of them. Just outside the radius, Rou is fortunately spared and tries to talk down the guard left standing. When that fails, Eight casts another spell. This time, their eyes go blood red and a matching mote of light strikes the guard and maims him.
Trix finds a position on the roof and takes a shot at the guard closest to Eight, while Rou draws his sword and prepares for the fight to get worse. Both are surprised when Eight begins to brandish flashy sword skills. They are further confused when Eight’s responses become less like the Eight they know.

Eight leaves Bessie and Jimothy for the night and finds a group of guards waiting at the doorway. When they’re prevented from entering, Eight tries to refute their claims that their companions are the “troublemakers” that the guards are searching for. As the guards encircle them, they summon a flock of chickens for assistance.
Meanwhile, the guards inside the inn begin searching the crowd. Trix does their best to remain calm and blend in, encouraging Rou to do the same. As the guards move closer, Trix drops a piece of bread in an attempt to disguise their attempts to leave. Unfortunately it doesn’t work and the guards’ attention is immediately drawn to the pair. Rou seizes the opportunity to lie about “mean and sinister” individuals on the second level that had a “young teen with them”. With half the guards engaged with a flock of chickens on the porch and tensions rising inside, Rou and Trix prepare for a scuffle.
