The article from Nerdist reports the death of Hollywood legend Robert Redford at the age of 89.[1] Redford, known for his iconic roles and as an Oscar-winning director, passed away in his sleep at his Utah home on Tuesday morning.[1] The cause of death has not been released.[1] He was a celebrated leading man in numerous films including Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid, All The Presidents Men, The Natural, and Out of Africa.[1] Redford also directed acclaimed movies like Ordinary People, for which he won an Oscar, and Quiz Show.[1] Beyond his acting and directing career, he was a strong advocate for independent films, founding the Sundance Film Institute in 1981 and subsequently the Sundance Film Festival.[1] He is survived by his wife, Szaggars Redford, and two children, Shauna Schlosser Redford and Amy Redford.[1]Robert Redford, the legendary Hollywood actor, Oscar-winning director, and a champion of independent cinema, has passed away at 89 years old.[1] The news of his death was confirmed by Cindi Berger, CEO of Rogers & Cowan PMK, who stated he died peacefully in his sleep at his Utah residence early Tuesday morning.[1] The cause of his passing is not yet known.[1]
