Robots From Tomorrow!

MikeNo. 5 Volume 1 Greg MAWRTH VALLIIS OGN

This episode was originally broadcast on August 5, 2020.

C. Spike Trotman is one of the most successful comics publishers in today's market.

Her company, Iron Circus Comics, has bestrode Kickstarter like a colossus, generating nearly two million dollars in revenue from twenty-six successful campaigns (and counting) stretching back to the initial launch of Poorcraft in 2009.

From Smut Peddler's lady-centric porn to The Harrowing of Hell's biblical drama, from anthologies to animation, Iron Circus continues to defy expectations of content and exceed expectations of quality.

Today's episode has Greg chatting with the Iron Circus Comics ringleader for a peek behind the curtain at how she balances creativity and productivity, the motivational power of "no", paying creators for their work, and much more!

Talking to comics creators for this show is something both the lads enjoy, but it's safe to say that Greg's chat on today's show is one he's has been looking forward to for a long time.

P. Craig Russell is a multi-Eisner Award-winning cartoonist whose career spans decades and whose list of notable works would take almost as long to discuss. He is a comix storyteller of the first order, speaking its language on the page fluidly enough to adapt other mediums like prose, drama, and even opera with seeming ease (though we doubt he would call it 'easy'). Though joking in a 1991 Comics Journal interview that he preferred working with dead writers, it is his in-direct collaboration with SF living legend Michael Moorcock that brings him on the show today because Titan Comics is reprinting his miniseries Stormbringer as the latest in its Elric volumes of The Michael Moorcock Library, in stores on July 21st.
