Greg gets a chance to chat with comics scholar Dr. Andrew Deman about the Rosetta Stone of his comics upbringing: Chris Claremont's original run on Uncanny X-Men. With The Claremont Run, Deman and his team look through that body of work and its impact not only on sexuality, gender, and representation in comics, but also its effect on the long-continuity media landscape we now find ourselves in. What X-character does he have a soft spot for? What artist pushed Claremont the most? Which storyline does Deman think is Dark Phoenix 2.0? The answers to those questions and more on today's episode!

The art, colors, the volume, the . . . humor?

Longtime listeners will know Mike & Greg's answer to those questions, but today's episode lets them dive further into a book at once beautiful, gut-wrenching, heartbreaking, messy, of its time, ahead of its time, singular, and something we will never see the likes of which again.
